Pours a very hazy copper/orange color with a fluffy white head. Lots of barnyard funk on the nose, grassy and lemony, brett funk, a bit of orange and spiciness. Sweet citrus up front, grassy earthy funk, some brett funk as well and a bitter finish. Medium bodied and high carbonation. Awesome beer, although I wouldn’t mind a little less sweetness.

750ml bottle from Belmont Station, split with my bride. Pours an orangish amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is yeasty, Brett, lemon orange citrus. Just a little heavy on the palate with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mostly sweet, but a little funky, fruity, some familiar banana-clove, with a light fruity finish. An excellent saison.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Prufrockstar (226) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 14, 2013
Bottle split with several friends. Attractive pale gold color, a little murky with fluffy, creamy white head that gets out of the way after a few minutes. Nice soft, mild aroma of citrus fruit and some nice, fruity funk. Aroma is more nuanced and complex than that, but I’m not coming up with more to say about it than that since my notes on the matter suck. Taste - a lot of nicely balanced flavors in there. Funk more pronounced, with some nice overripe fruits. A little too sweet to call it dry, but I wouldn’t call it sweet either. Light bitter finish. Comes together beautifully -- just a really nice saison, perhaps my favorite to date. Great mouthfeel, crisp finish but nicely round a full while the liquid is in the mouth. I don’t want to put this one down.

Bottle. Gusher. Pours murky, golden with thick white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is grain, funk, and yeast. Taste has huge Brett notes. Awesome light tart flavor. Palate is thick and coats the mouth. Dry finish. Great beer on a Spring day.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 popery (1133) - San Francisco, California, USA - APR 13, 2013
Very nice saison. It’s not particularly good looking for the style. Not really a complaint; there just happen to be some great looking saisons. Pours medium gold. A bit murky. The head puffs up but fades away relatively quickly. There’s a wonderful depth to the saison yeast flavor in both taste and aroma. It smells like peaches, strawberries, grass, hay and fresh grain. Mild to medium funk. Compared to the normal version, the brett is easy to spot, which I had been told was not the case. It’s more fruit funk than barnyard, closer to Sanctification than a funk bomb. The taste is medium tart. There’s a bit too much body to call it dry, but I’m not getting much sweetness, either. It’s got lemons, apples, oranges and a lightly bitter/astringent finish. Great stuff. The mouthfeel is round, though not heavy, and the finish dries it out. It’s just a really tasty beer. I guess it shouldn’t really be a shock that Dave Logsdon knows his way around yeast flavor, but I’m still quite impressed. It definitely stands out, even though the regular Seizoen and Kili Wit are also quite good. I’d love to try the Peach version or any other Logsdon beers.
