Our organic farmhouse ale is brewed in small batches on a traditional farm brewery as it has historically been made for hundreds of years. This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with its beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains producing fruity and spicy flavors that are balanced by hops and a soft malt character. Special Brettanomyces yeast provides added dryness and crisp complexity. For the most satisfying results, store upright in a cold, dark place and enjoy in a proper glass.

From bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a white foam. Aroma is yeasty, citrusy and peachy. Taste is peach, yeast, funky grain, citrus, apple and brett, brett, brett... Good carbonation.

Draft at beertemple. Golden pour. Aroma of brett and grain. Fresh taste of brett and some funky grain. Not bad, could use more character.

Bottle thanks to Douglas. Pours with a very large white head that dissipates to a smaller white head, bubbles of various sizes. Aroma is similar to the regular, with fleshy fruits and light hay. Except this one brings more citrus character, orange peel, zest and a slight earthiness. Taste is more earthy up front, kind of muting any tropical or citrus flavors. Still very enjoyable. A bit more carbonation in this one as well. Kinda wish I would have let this bottle set for a little and let the Brett come out more, but still very enjoyable.

Draught at BeerTemple. Lacing, medium thick, egg-white head over a deep, warm, orangey golden blonde beer. Aroma of overripe peach, damp hay, pineapple, chicken soup, yoghurt, sherry, cantaloupe and, alas, ureum. Very estery taste, peachy, gooseberry, yoghurt tartness accompanying this strong fruitiness over a soft, smooth, honeyish malt backbone; tartness dries the finish along with a hint of peppery hops. Interesting, but more a modern era sour ale than a true saison.

Hazy golden with a pillowy white head. Full of citrus fruits, yeasty spices, a bit tart, musty funk, light berry. Mild earthy and malty middle. Quite the complex brew. Good stuff, this.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Whole Foods - Bowery, 12/15/15

Aroma: Has a fairly fruity / citrus aroma, lots of spice coming through, and some funk too
Appearance: Pours a murky yellowish-orange color with a fizzy, foamy head and heavy lace
Flavor: Gets funkier on the flavor, a mild sweetness is overrun by the bitter and funky flavors
Palate: It has a medium body, a rather fizzy carbonation, and a sharp, dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid brett Saison, but not up there with the best of the style for me. The flavors feel just a bit lacking in clarity, or sharpness, or just overall excellence of execution. It is a really dry and yeasty beer overall. Hard to say what makes it good vs. great. A bit too much carbonation takes away a bit from the enjoyment as well. Still, this is an enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Slightly hazy, golden honey color. Aroma: old cheese, something sweet, like honey, fruit and fruit vinegar, strawberries, pears, wine, alcoholic esters. Taste: initial mild sweetness and maltiness, wine, champagne, alcohols, grapes, fruit and a little bitterness.

375ml bottle. Cloudy, nicely dirty, orangey golden colour with average to huge, fluffy, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Damn fucking complex and variegated, sweet-ish fruity, spicy, bretty aroma, notes of apricot and peach, mirabelle, nectarine, varied in all possible stages of maturity from unripe to overripe, therefore peppery spicy and tart components, rather ephemeral bretty notes with well-known sweet-ish bubblegum touch, hints of red berries, especially strawberry; a dusty touch of white pepper, hints of vinegar, grapes and white wine. Taste is initially dry hoppy, intensely peppery spicy yeasty, white pepper, notes of dry white wine, background-ish fruity sweetness gains weight and contributes to a harmonious general impression at least from the middle part on, likewise a plethora of yellow stone fruit flavours with mild tartness; viscid palate, lively carbonation. Saison with tremendous complexity and wicked wild and dirty touch. Boss!

Shared 750ml to chalices. Slow gush. Hazy golden. Big white pillows. Tart and fruity. Very fruity, juicy, and a huge brett presence that dries the entire mouth. Biting carbonation.

Pours a slightly cloudy, dark golden orange color with tangerine edges and a massive 2.5 finger head that very slowly settles into a thick, lasting cap. Large chunks of soapy lacing left behind. Earthy, slightly musty aroma with some funky brett, pale malt, light fruit and a strong citrus component. Some tangerine, papaya and blood orange along with farmhouse funk and an overwhelmingly strong brett presence. The musty yeast character overpowers the other notes making the aroma a bit one dimensional. Medium bodied and with strong carbonation and prominent funky brett flavor. One dimensional with all brett and mineral flavor. Musty funky and earthy farmhouse yeast along with very subtle citrus fruit and bready yeast character. The mouthfeel is off and there is a surprising lack of complexity. Disappointing.
