4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Oh My! This is as real as beer gets folks. Oh so very soft and creamy. A dreamy delight. Sour and tart and alcohol to boot. Wow! Appearance is on par with superior German Hefe’s. Beautiful if you stir it up. Simply amazing! Very rustic. This with pumpkin would be radical. Just a touch of sweetness.

750 bottle with the tightest cap and stickiest wax. Well, do you like Brett? This might not even be beer. But 3/4 liter of straight up yeast. Pours the murkiest, chunkiest of pale yellows. Reeks of Brett. Tastes like Brett burried under the hay in a barn. Some gentle pear fruit flavors complement it nicely. Touch of funk. No sour, which I guess never shows up. Just the Brett funk.

Tough pour into a tulip... got about three quarters foam that wouldn’t quit. Great look! It seems like I’m not taking to this style of ale, though, as for me this one was pretty underwhelming. Barnyard aromas and a taste redolent of hay, straw, grass, followed by spicy bitterness. I used to work quite happily on a dairy farm, but to me this particular palette of odors and flavors is not very attractive when poured into a glass. Beeswax.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My first bottle was completely flat..so I knew something was wrong given the reviews on carbonation. My local, Vinnin Liquors was kind enough to give me another bottle. OK, now I know what people are talking about, my tulip half filled with bright white head with good retention leaving gloppy spiders on a very careful pour. Sweet yeast and citrus aromas. Sharp with sweet lemon and funky yeast upfront turning to mild pepper before the medium length marshmallow finish.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by Cuso. Hazy golden colour. Traditional saison character mixing very nicely with fruity horsey brett flavours. Moderate sourness which does not throw it off balance. Easily drinkable. Very well made beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Light hazy yellow with a medium sized white head. Fruity and bretty nose; honey, hay, horse staple. Flavour follows the same lines with lots of fruit backed by brett, hay, dry grass. Medium body, slight alcohol presence, some sweetness throughout but with gentle bitterness and acidity also. High but filling carbonation, some alcohol and astringency in the finish. Drinkable.

Murky orange with silky white head. Yeast, funk, orange, oak and spice. Spicy, dry, crisp and yeasty finish. Overall: too yeasty for me, but very nice finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Seizoen Bretta is bottle-conditioned with pear juice, giving it high, natural carbonation. Pear, citrus, mushroom, horsehair, subtle breadiness and hints of floral spice swirl in the aroma as the bubbles pop. It’s a bit sweet for a saison, with sugary pear syrup, lemon zest and stone fruit leading the flavor. The brett does its best to balance, adding an earthy, musky quality without being overtaken. Incredibly fizzy, the beer expands in the mouth like a balloon, providing the tongue plenty of attention before a fairly sweet, alcohol-free finish. An aged bottle -- about two years old at this point -- displays pronounced pineapple along with pear skin and a bit of hay.

Champagne apricot color, with tons of bubbles, big rocky white head and very nice lace. Aroma of dried fruit - pears and melon, with earthiness and spices. Slight bitterness up front with white grape and lemon tartness in the middle, finishing dry. Bright Belgian yeast throughout. Light body, creamy mouthfeel, huge effervescence and a dry crisp finish.
