COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our organic farmhouse ale is brewed in small batches on a traditional farm brewery as it has historically been made for hundreds of years. This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with its beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains producing fruity and spicy flavors that are balanced by hops and a soft malt character. Special Brettanomyces yeast provides added dryness and crisp complexity. For the most satisfying results, store upright in a cold, dark place and enjoy in a proper glass.

750mL, Bottle No 5B 7665, Best by 12/2016 from Olive Tree Market in OB, $11.19.Effervescent medium gold with a big three finger pillowy off-white head with great retention. Definitely has some fruity pineapple brett that is a little sour, but not crazy so thus far in the nose--the large head could be dampening the aroma, though. There is also some dusty white pepper and the earthy manure notes that seem pretty signature to these guys (at least the other two beers I’ve had) are present, but more hanging out in the background with some mineral notes. Flavor didn’t seem quite as bretty or fruity, and the earthy rustic and pepper notes get much stronger. Flavor also is showing some alcohol as well, though no stronger than the stated 8% ABV. Bone dry finish, bitterness peaked at a Medium body with high carbonation. Pretty tasty, need to pick up a couple more bottles of these

tectactoe (2682) - Michigan, USA - FEB 20, 2015
Bottle: Light-gold, deep-straw color, very dense & cloudy, nearing 100% opacity & topped with a volatile, lovely white head sifts its way down to nothing in moments. Aroma hits heavy with Granny Smith apples, white grape, funky barnyard must, wet cork, damp cotton, under-ripe pear, & maybe a hint of old pineapple. More tart & fruity than funky on the nose. Flavor flip flops, though, & funk is definitely the starring role. Brett bomb; dirty barnyard, moldy wet wood, old cork, musty blankets. Not overly sweaty, but really dry & crittery. Lots of wood & oak wetness, too. Tartness is still there, though. Pineapple, pear skin, apple, some generic, mineral stone fruit acidity. Hint of bitterness towards the drying, Brett laden finish. Really nice.

2014 Bottle. Seems infected, beer sprayed everywhere when opened. It had been sitting since I got it so it wasn’t shaken. Taste had a metallic dryness and yeast aroma. There was some of the original flavor and aroma underneath but unfortunately it was undrinkable. Non infected version is delicious, rating is from non infected one.

Tap @ fermentoren. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is quite dry and does not have those same sweet esters as the regular version. Instead this is more on the funky side with some barnyard, dry straw, weak acidic notes and some weak wheat as well. The taste is dry and has some bitterness as well. Funky brett, barnyard, straw, green unripe apples and some dry wood as well. Pretty good!
