COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our organic farmhouse ale is brewed in small batches on a traditional farm brewery as it has historically been made for hundreds of years. This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with its beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains, producing complex fruity and spicy flavors balanced with hops and a soft malt character.

Quite the gusher, definitely lost an ounce a two before I could start to pour over the sink. A careful pour produces a three finger thick, plus an additional finger above the rim of my Teku glass, pale tan colored head that is quite rocky and textured. The beer is a pale, just amber color that shows a deeply hazed, slightly chunky, straw / pale-orange tinged gold hue when held up to the light. The nose is quite vibrant, floral, lightly herbal, citrusy, earthy grain, wildflower spice notes, and weedy / grass notes all mix together. As the beer warms up a hay like, just thrushed wheat, and pale malt character becomes a bit more noticeable; even a touch of saltine crackers and perhaps some rustic white bread notes.

Dry, but quite grain driven, floral, herbal, with a lingering bitterness, there is a touch of citrus here, that gets more expressive with subsequent sips. The beer is quite light bodied, but is not in any way watery, as there is just enough viscosity to provide some texture. Spicy, peppery, wild flower like, earthy, hints of cumin, slightly musty, lingering sage, and bitter citrus zest are all quite noticeable here. Between the hop character and the yeast notes, there is quite a bit of fruit character in this beer, but it is quite well balanced out by lots of grassy, herbal, weedy, and peppery spiciness in the finish.

My second pour of this is so much murkier and middy in appearance; the flavor isn’t too much different, but it definitely is a bit yeasty and the citrusy hop character seems to be muted a bit. This is definitely preferable prior to getting so murky, though it isn’t bad after this, but certainly has a yeast bite to it. If I could get a bottle that wasn’t so heavily sedimented and was clear, I bet this beer would be just about singing; I’ll definitely have to keep a look out for another bottle of this. In the end, I really like how complex this beer is, with the murkiness it can be a touch discordant, but in the end it does work.

Small sample from bottle, at a 4th of July tasting. Gusher bottle, like every beer I’ve had from Logsdon. The remaining contents were nice though - a decent saison, with mild spicy notes in both aroma and flavour. Might well sample again.

375 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of citrus, Saison yeast and some earth. Flavour of strong sharp citrus, Saison yeast, bun dough, peach yoghurt, mild graininess, herbs and bubblegum sweetness. Medium bodied. Foamy mouthfeel. Refreshing.

750 ml capped and waxed bottle no. 3091, best by: 02/2017. Initialy clear bright golden orange, big rocky white foam settles and lasts. Pungent fruity yeasty aroma. Taste is mostly fruity yeasty esters, some spices, earthy and citric, mild malts. Average carbonation, medium bodied, lightly hopped. A more intense saison makes it: NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a large white head. Dry flowers, light fruit and dust in the nose. Looks and smells inviting. Flavour pretty much follows the nose, with some lemon, light white pepper, dried green plants, pears, earth, also has a touch of burnt plastic. There is some light astringency in the finish that is a bit off putting and the alcohol shows a bit. Medium body, some sweetness, medium bitter, fine and soft carbonation. Fair enough, but of course I will never buy this again with better and cheaper Belgian saisons around.

Big fluffy head on pale cloudy yellow. Grassy lemon scent. Sharp flavour. A bit milky and chalky. Lots of lèmon. A bit candy and a bit of a science experiment. Drop of mint.

Early summer gettogether in RB Odense. Golden with a big white head. Fruity, spicy, herbal, quite classic saison aroma. Quite sweet, spicy flavour with white pepper, coriander, rosemary and a grassy note. Quite bitter finish. Shame about the sweetness

Pours a hazy, cloudy light orange almost like orange juice. The head is tight and dense white with a steady stream of carbonation. The aroma is spicy, zesty and floral with a big bouquet of esters. Pepper, coriander, soft toasted wheat and caramel malts. Nicely balanced with grassy hops, light bitterness and a complex array of yeast flavours. Delightful.

375ml bottle pours a hazy straw color with a finger of white head that retains well and leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is lemony with some grains and yeasty notes. Taste is a light lemon tartness with some fruity and grainy malt sweetness. Medium bodied with good carbonation that provides a nice mouth feel.
