COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The triple, or ’tripel’ style ale is probably the one style most commonly brewed by breweries is all of Flanders. Pure pilsner malt with a touch of oats provides a slightly sweet malty profile balanced by a judicious amount of whole cone noble Hallertau hops. Our triple is characterized by complex yet mildly spicy character from the compliment of traditional spices.

750ml bottle at Jamey’s. Pours a clody blonde with a white head. Aroma and taste are sweet, with some peache and apple notes. Sweet, slightly hoppy aftertaste. Very good.

Bottle-Purchased at a Binny’s Location in the Chicago Suburbs. Pours slightly hazy lite orange with a nice full soapy white head with ghostly lacing. Nose is super awesome-lots of funky, yeasty, musty, slightly phenolic, slight barnyard thing going on. Very nice. Flavors really focus on the yeast quality here, lots of barnyard, musty quality almost like a saison mixed with a tripel. Saison Dupont comes to mind when drinking this. Finish has some dried candy fruits, light alcohol and slightly astringent estery flavors. Some husky quality as well, but more in a earthy way than say a pilsner. Great brew as consistent with all the other beers i have had from this brewery.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2016 Hazy golden colour, minimal off-white head; aroma of raspberry, lemony and cheesy notes, some earth, floral notes and grains; taste is the same with candy sugar overripe fruits and sourish notes; excellent tripel

Bottle. Pours hazy straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of citrus and hops, with subtle notes of flowers and yeast. Sweetish and citric flavour of hops and citrus fruits, with some funky and salty notes - more like Saison than a Tripel. Acidic aftertaste. High carbonation. Good.

Cloudy, light golden with some floating sediment. Fluffy white head. Fruity, floral, estery aroma. Light barnyard in the long nose. Sweet citric flavour, yeasty with creamy, fluffy mouthfeel. Rather funky for a tripel but quite nice.

Bottle, 8.8%. Quite citric aroma, and also quite funky. Hazy golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is sweetish and citric with a faint hint of marazipan and phenols. Spicy notes, coriander or whatever. A bit strange and not very tripel-y, but refreshing and works well enough for me.

Tap@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - orange pour with white head. Fruity and floral hoppy, some nice barnyard notes, zesty lemon, light yeasty, lovely floral character, great trippel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft 7 oz pour at the Logsdon Barrel House. Pours a clear golden yellow with a ton of foam head and lacing. Big belgian yeast consistent aroma. Flavor is really dry, mild spice throughout. Soft fruit reminder late. Pretty good tripel. It’s been fun getting to know this side of the brewer. Enjoyed this.

Bottle. Head is initially large, creamy, rocky, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain / cracker), moderately hoppy (flowers), moderately yeasty (cobwebs, dough), with notes of honey, banana taffy, coriander, green peppercorn, plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. The slick, flimsy mouthfeel is the least enjoyable part, and the slightly saccharine sweetness and somewhat artificial nose don’t help. There are some very nice things in the nose, it’s just a shame they’re offset by some less desirable things...partly due to obvious added spices (a good tripel has absolutely no need of them, and they usually detract instead of help), but perhaps also caused by fermentation issues (plastic and taffy). Could be a lot worse, but certainly hoped for better. The appearance is fantastic, though...big creamy-lumpy head that lasts all day, along with a hazy yeast-filled body. Just like a good Belgian beer should look.
