Rating from the archive: Schöne kastanienbraune Farbe mit beige-cremigem Schaum.
→ klasse dunkler Bock! Die 7% sind ihm nicht anzumerken! 13+12+13+12

Koelschtrinker (9998) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 17, 2011
Schwacher Bock. 11/7/8/8/11/7

The bottle looks a bit simple, the beer in the glass is okay. Starts malty and strong, not too dry. Sometimes a bit washy. Finish modest sourish. Thats not so good. But nevertheless a good bock!

Swing top bottle. Brown color. Malty aroma with caramel, chocolates and hints of roast. Caramelly, malty sweetish flavor. Medium bodied, some roastbitterness in the aftertaste. Well balanced bock.

A golden beer with a disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol and caramel. It has an OK body.

Pale orange gold; yellowish, small head, fast gone. Some maltsugar, caramel in the nose, and shrubbery notes. Taste is a subdued, but unbelievably balanced combination of liquorice-like sweetness, malt, caramel, toffee on one hand, and shrubbery, leafy, even earthy flavours on the other. Just a touch too much sweetness in the aftertaste, probably because of the magnification by the alcoholburn. Also some nutty flavours. Ever since I sampled "Keiler Dunkle Weisse", I learnt that Germand Weissbier can be really exceptional. This is, again, a superb beer by the Stumpf brewery. I hold them in high esteem.
