Bottle, 75cl. A cloudy dark amber beer with a dense, light beige head leaving some lacings. The aroma has an acidic touch, with dried fruits, and a touch of fresh fruits. The flavor is a bit too acidic, with a faint roasted touch. Prunes, some raisins, a little bitterness and some fruity sourness. Full body and a pleasant, soft carbonation. Long finish with fruityness, some prunes and a sour touch. Rather uninteresting this one, wonder if the acidity is intentional. 141213

750ml bottle, 8 % abv, from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Unclear dark brown coloured body. Dotted spots on the glassware. Tiny off-white head. Aromas of brown malts and honey, with a little tartness beneath. Malt-fruity flavours of plums, sweet berries, some Christmas spices, and brown malts. Dry, tart and sweet ending. So and so. It did not managed to create any Christmas feel in August (shared with Stefan, Elisabeth and Finn, session at Finns, Tromsø 07.08.2014).

750ml bottle. 8/13/14. Exploded upon opening. Went nuts for about 7 minutes. Pours red-amber with a thin light-amber head. Aroma is fruity, earthy, oxidized, basement, musty, sweet. Taste is sweet, fruity, some leather, oxidation; finish is a sticky fruit jam. Mouth feel is oily with some grit. No lacing. Carbonation is low (after the initial eruption). Not sure if infected or just a bad batch; this is the second time this has happened with this beer though. Not good, sadly. Drain pour.

Flaske 750ml fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Fellesinnkjøp med Rune. Delt med ham, Snegurochka og TheCellarer på Nerstranda 7 Aug 14. Mørk amber. Uklar med tydelige partikler. Lavt filmskum. Beskjeden syrlig fruktaroma. Smaken er plommer og syrlige epler. Sikkert god til visse matretter. Veldig uklar siste kvelling.

Sampled from a 0.75l in The Great Juleøl Blindtest 2013. A really deep warm amber cloudy looking one with a small light sidesticking off-white head. Slightly acidic nose, some spicy hints, wet silo grass and yeast. Not extreme and not to pleasant either. Semi dry in the taste, soft to average on the bubbles with a mild oily mouthfeel. More soft acidic fruity hints. Yeast, dark caramel and ripe old fruits. Dark malts and a flour chalky dry finish with hints of dry cocoa in the background. A bit dull perhaps. Not something I feel any real need to try again. 23.11.2013

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is wet grain, almond essence, weeds, wet hay, caramel. Taste is harsh and slightly sour-ish, caramel malts, wet grain, almond essence, wet hay gone sour, weeds, chalk. Little bitterness. Typical Italian....MEH!!
