COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To call C-Note very hoppy would be an understatement. It’s brewed with the seven "C" hops (Crystal, Cluster, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus and Challenger) and pushes the bitterness limit to 100 International Bitterness Units.

Dark red-orange with a small white head. Candied citrus and piney undertones in the aroma. Pineapple, mango, citrus, and a resinous pine hop flavor gestalt dominates with some bready malt bracing. Evergreen resin hop bitterness slightly lingers in the finish, with some sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium light, slightly dry.

Bottle. Pours a very slightly hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is fairly hoppy, and has a lot of grass notes to it. Taste is only slightly bitter, and has a subtle residual sweetness to it. Very drinkable and approchable for an IPA.

Split bomber imported from Portland with sherm1016...pours a foggy orange...may have gotten some bottom yeast into my glass which changes taste slighty. Resin / citrus / pine in the nose. Sweeter taste with malt influence. Bitter finish....good / tasty.

No bottle date A: Pours a nice orange ale with under a single finger of creamy foam which falls to a sheet of the same. Nice rope lace. Excellent clarity. S: Pine, resin, citrus, black olive (?), some nice sweetness as well. T: Sweeter than I anticipated. Bitter with some nice resin style hops and some citrus flavors. Above avg, but not by much. M: Medium bodied with decent carb and a semi dry finish. O: Not a bad beer at all, but not something I would spend much time seeking out. From notes verbatim on 10/27/10 A: Semi-murky copper ale with low/no head. S: Pine, oranges, grapefruits. Floral tones in here as well. T: Lower bitterness than I had anticipated. Tons of hops, tons of flavors. Yum! Resiny at the end. M: Lower carbonation and higher body then I expected. D: Great beer at the price point ($4). Serving type: bottle 09-26-2011

Bomber from Albertsons. Pours a mostly clear dark reddish copper color with a small white head. A light caramel and fruity nose. The flavor is bitter, green, fruity, light caramel. Pretty mellow really. Malty balance but defined by green raw hops. OK.

In short: A caramelized resinous IPA, nourishing not refreshing. Good beer.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed fresh a week or two after purchase.
The look: Mostly clear golden copper body topped by a medium off-white head.
In long: The hoppy nose is mostly hops resin with underlying floral-citrusy notes and caramelized malts. Taste starts with a big chewy caramelized malts backbone creating a strong crème caramel sensation. This is well balanced by resinous floral-citrusy hops. Bitterness is round and sticky, no sharp grapefruits or citric character here. Full body with a fluffy-chewy texture and plenty of soft bubbles. This is a nourishing IPA, if you’re looking for a refreshing beer this is not one for you. I personally prefer my IPAs more refreshing and drier but this is nonetheless a well-made nourishing IPA. And I’m sure glad I have ratebeer to enter my beer ratings, I started adding my beer ratings on the “other site” and it didn’t take long before they closed down my account, I can’t believe if, fuck LinkedIn.

pours hazy dark golden, red tint, with a minimal off-white head, some retention. very piney, toasted and slightly sweet caramel, sweet toasted spicy rye bread, decent fruity-spicy malts, herbs, grass, some citrus, quite spicy too. average to soft carbonation, medium body, harsh piney finish. not very balanced. in your face brew. meh.

A friend sent a 22 oz bottle from SoCal. Poured in a St Bernardus chalice...modest head and some lace. Aroma of citrus hops and herbal spice. Flavors of citrus hops, white pepper, funky tropical fruit rind, grapefruit rind. Overall bold in the hops but some astringency and unpleasant funky notes take away from this amalgamation of "C" hops.

Draught at The New Old Lompoc 5th Quadrant. Big hop monster! Full-bodied. But not excessively malty. Yes!
