RATINGS: 4   MEAN: 3.5/5.0   WEIGHTED AVG: 3.05/5   EST. CALORIES: 198   ABV: 6.6%
The winning recipe from the Timbers Army Homebrew Competition, aptly named in honor of those brave souls who sweat it out on the North End of Jeld-Wen Field every game. This Cascadian Dark Ale brings out the best of Portland’s football club. Munich and Carafa malts lend a hand (or foot) to a hopped up aroma and balanced flavor. Brewed and dry-hopped with five different hop varieties, its complex profile mixes with touches of chocolate and roasted grains to round out the full flavored beer (6.6% ABV).

Tap at OBF as EleventyOne CDA. Pours dark dark brown with a foamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate cookie and ginger? citrus? Med body. Flavor is citrus, chocolate, dark malt. Goes a bit earthy in a fairly bitter and dry finish.

On tap at Belmont Station in Portland, OR. Pours a black body with an inch thick, dense, rocky, foamy and creamy dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy with some roasts, a light chocolate, and some citrus pines with a few florals and resins. Flavor is similar. Citrus florals and resiny pines with some grains, chocolate, and roasts. Finishes clean and dry with some roasts, chocolate, a good amount of citruses, and a medium-high bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent Black IPA. Well hopped with some chocolate and a few roast notes. Not bad.

Draught. Black pour with beige head. Yeasty aroma. Flavour is malty and hoppy, well balanced. I didn’t taste the hop varieties, perhaps my palate is not sensitive enough. Roasty touches.

Tap at Fifth Quadrant (NOL) - 07/11/12. Mid black with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edges. Nose is pine, hops, touch of chocolate and a little grapefruit. Tastes of pine, hops, malt, chocolate, touch of mineral. Medium bodied with light carbonation, smooth on the palate lending towards a bitter finish. A decent enough CDA.
