This Northwest Red ale is malty and full bodied with a deep, rich red color. Proletariat Red reminds us that work is the curse of the drinking class!

Bottle:   Tawny amber, moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft grainy nose, a little bit of cocoa and nuttiness.   Toasty on the tongue, light pale fruit, nutiness, with that smidgen of cocoa.   A little dry, not as full bodied as I would like but still somewhat smooth.   Finishes bready, toasty, soft nuts and a bit of mealiness.   Lingering dry cocoa like notes after the finish.   Decent Amber, almost coming across as a Brown at times.

Bottled. Poured dark brownish red. Smallish head. Lots of malts and caramel. Kind of watery. Reminded me more of a dunkel or something.

Poured from bomber into a pint glass. Pours a nice amber color with a smaller head. Nice complexity to the aromas of malts, toffee, caramel, and some bitter notes too. Good depth and very aromatic. Medium bodied with a real nice smooth and complete feel. Lacks a slight bit of depth and complexity but is very nice with flavors of caramel, toffee and a slight bit of malts. This was a real good red ale. Very enjoyable and very drinkable.

A surprisingly dry and fruity red with a strong malt background and some powdery chocolate notes. Itís a little weighty for me to find it awesome for a session but itís definitely something I will revisit every now and again.

Bomber. Amber colored as expected with a half-inch of tan head. The aroma has a fair amount of caramel and toasted malts in addition to some orange citrus and earthy hops notes. The taste is along the same lines with an equally strong emphasis on the caramel and bready malt characteristics backed by a more subtle citrus and herbal hops flavor. The body is mildly creamy with moderate carbonation and a malty, candied citrus finish. Pretty decent malt-forward NW Red with just enough hops to balance things out. I could see it paring well with brewpub fare.

22 oz bottle from Fred Meyer in Wilsonville,OR. $3.79 Nice bright amber coloured ale with a lovelly thick, frothy egg shell white head. Mainlly malty in aroma, caramel, nuttiness, light chocolateslight floral hop. Semi sweet thick malty taste, again caramel, toast, milk chocolat slight hop bitterness at the end but this is a malt bomb. Great mouthfeel thick and smooth and chewy. I really really enjoyed this beer. A great malty amber

This is a good solid red/Amber Ale... It has decent malts, pretty smooth but with watery finish

This flavorful red ale pours a very hazy amber-red body with half an inch of off-white head that settles to a thin ring. The malt-dominated nose is toasty, caramely, and sweet-smelling, with a touch of hops offering aromas of tea and cut grass, but the nose is also a bit husky. The flavor generally mirrors the nose, with toasty, medium-sweet, and very caramely malt, as well as a toffee and lightly bitter, grassy, tea-like hop character, but unfortunately, there is also a noticeable grain huskiness in the finish that does detract from the final impression. Medium bodied on the palate with medium carbonation and a dry, slightly astringent finish. Not a bad beer, but that husky grain quality of the finish really starts getting in the way after a few sips.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber brown with small head that disappears quickly. Heavy malts in the aroma. Taste is sweet and malty, no hoppiness to speak of. A bit thin. Decent and very drinkable, but not very complex.
