COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Northwest Red ale is malty and full bodied with a deep, rich red color. Proletariat Red reminds us that work is the curse of the drinking class!

Draft at 5th Quadrant. Aroma of caramel. Taste has lots of malt but pretty good balance.

Bomber served in a shaker. Pours amber, clear, and near headless. Fruit and candy sweet aroma. Malty medium sweet, light bitter flavor and finish. Medium body and a light creamy texture on this highly drinkable red.

Caramelly sweet and bready aroma. Dark copper with ruby edges and thin white head. Caramel and faint molasses start and are quite smooth before yeilding to a crisp finish. Medium body and slick. Low carbonation. Very enjoyable red that showcases the malt.

I wonder why an amber is classed as IPA. On to the investigation of a bomber from Big Star in Seattle. Pours ruddy amber with a slight beige head. Smells like light roast malt without much hop. Flavor is moderately roasted malt with not much hop. This is not an IPA IMHO. Pretty blah amber IMHO.

Bomber. Rust red in color with about an inch of fluffy white foam. Aroma has slight chocolate, toasty malts, some biscuit and a faint whiff of citrus. More similar in aroma to a brown ale than a "red" ale. Flavor is overly bitter with a pronounced malt background. One of my least liked beers I’ve had from this brewer so far.

A little spice and sweet in the aroma. Some hop at beginning and end. Pretty red color. Some sugar in the flavor. On nitro, which fades fairly quickly.

Draught at brewpub. Caramel to some extent in taste. Malts. Light body. Could be a sessionable beer if desired.

[2962-20100626] Tap. Fresh yeasty bread dough aroma has some leafy greens. Clear, dark amber body with a quick foamy white head. More yeasty bread dough flavour has some bitter notes with a green hop aftertaste. Medium body. Nice yeast characteristics, good balance.

2010-06-26. Dark red body, with a thin off-white head. 3+ Flavour is pretty sweet and malty, with touches of caramel. Very light bitterness. Sweet malty aroma, caramel notes. Average palate is a touch light for the beer and under carbonated. Simple but enjoyable. On Tap at the brewpub, Portland.
