A decedent stout brewed as a winter warmer with a huge amount of malt character to complement the seasonís festivities. Itís deep brown/black in colour, 6% abv and full of seasonal flavours, such as chocolate, anise, coffee and a touch of orange and leafy notes from the American and New Zealand hops.

Bottled 10/03/14. A black beer with a beige head which does diminish. A very tasty stout. Seems oaky. Lots of flavour. Nice sweetish roast. Boozy. Highly hopped. Decadent. Liked this.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown/black with a bubbly tan head. Aroma had a light meatiness, soy, liquorice and a little dark fruit. Medium body, mild carbonation. Fairly sweet initial with a touch of milk chic, a little fruit and treacle, then a little soy, some dry woodiness and a good lingering, slightly coffee, bitterness. Nice.

Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty earthy licorice aroma with cocoa notes. Dry-sweet wooden spicy earthy taste with roasty cocoa notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish wooden pine needle and earthy cocoa aftertaste with spicy licorice notes. Long, lingering earthy toffee finish. Very, very nice. Vivid, harmonic, drinkable, and just plain good. An outstanding beer. (0.5l bottle, gift from KnutAl.)
