Very tasty. Spicy black ipa, with some bitter green hops, syrup or treacle like overlay. Top effort.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin and bubbly off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, spicy hops, a little citrus. The flavour is medium bitter with a big grass nettle hop spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Really great black IPA. One of rhe best I’ve had for sure. Just love those hops and the malty smoothness.

Cask at the brewery tap, citrus hoppy nose with hints of coffee, rich body with roasty malt, bright citrus hops, touches of mocha and grapefruit, faint hints of red fruit and treacle. Gorgeous...

Keg. Black with a nice dense off-white head. The malts have a nice caramel sweetness and light toasting, and the fresh hops contrast nicely. Chocolate and firewood. Smooth medium body with a very fine carbonation. Nice finish, but the bitterness in the aftertaste is a little jagged.

Keg at the brewpub.
Intense herbal hoppiness. Coffee, roasted grain, fruit. The most impressive in their range.

14th December 2013
Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan - cream coloured head. Nice mellow black IPA - mild dark malts and a little pine. Palate is light and airy. Light fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, has character but no roast or bitterness. Good smooth pine and a little citrus. Finishes light and semi dry. Tasty but not quite top drawer.

Pours dark brown to black, light carbonation, slight creaminess. Nose is burner caramel, pine, and citrus sweetness, coffee, and a stocky meatiness. Taste is sweet citrus, coffee, burnt wood, pine, and with an edgy bitterness to finish. Really lovely. I like hear new black IPAs a lot. London Fields keeps kicking goals these last 12 months.
