First brewed barricaded in the brewery whilst the riots were raging just around the corner. This is a brooding red ale, with a deep and complex blend of New World hops and maltiness. Rich tropical fruit and caramel flavours with a light pine and apple edge.
Hops: Bittering – Magnum. Aroma – Motueka and Super Alpha.

Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 28 Jan 2013. Poured a slightly hazy copper colour, with a thin white head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt, tart berries and caramel. Acidic, zest fruit flavours, mixed with some brown sugar and biscuity malt. Finish was nicely balanced straw, hop resin and roasted malt.

Brownish red ale. Cream colored head. Thin strawberry notes. Not a strong taste but nice tasting palate. Cool story behind beer. Probably not true. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy deep amber beer, little white head. Light palate - crisp and dry. Well balanced. Creamy malt base with a whisper of toffee. Good hops - pine with mild tropical fruits. Minerals. Decent flavours slightly marred by an over dry palate. Okay but too dry.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Bree Louise. Unclear amber coloured body. Headless, poor lacing. Dark fruity hops to the nose. Taste of red oranges and dark grapefruits. Decent hop bitter ending. Refreshing. Rather thin bodied. OK (London, 05.11.2012).

Amber ale, with nice citrusy aroma. I love the slightly malty taste, but with fruity notes and bitter aftertaste. Love the storey behind the brew as well.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Should definitely have drink this BEFORE the SCANNERS, as it’s going to fare badly in comparison. Anyway. It’s red, with bugger all head/froth. Smells sweet, like dried fruit or nutty cake. A little plastic upfront, then a pleasant bitterness comes through in the form of a mouthblast. Bit of plastic to finish, but that might be antiscepticness from hops - what do I know?? A malty backbone to the palate (what am I talking about). A good ESB.
