3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Gold with a slight haze lasting white head. Ok ester flavour. It’s a light ester lemon curd hefe. Quite authentic. Good peach flavour on the finish. Good hop sting. Good without winning me over and I do like hefe.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Keg at the brewery tap, hazy gold, maybe closer to a Kristall than a Hefe, nose is yeast and eggs with a touch of honey, palate adds banana and more honey, you’ll get Hefes like this in North Germany, but it’s not typically Bavarian.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at London Fields Brewery in Hackney, London on 13 July 2013.
Poured a hazy orange with a thin white head, which dissipated quite quickly. Good strong aroma or orange peal, candy peal and cloves. Fruity orange and tropical fruit flavours mixed with grainy wheat notes. One of the best British wheat beers I’ve had.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Oct 2012 - cold bottle. Smells like a barley beer. Light body, mild uncomplicated wheat flavours, bit watery, most wheat beers don’t have this sort of hoppy taste. Unexciting, borderline poor beer, won’t return to it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the Holborn Whippet - 11/09/12.
Slightly hazy light golden orange witha decent off-white head. Lots of lacing ensued.
Nose comprised banana, clove, pears and toffee.
Taste largely follows, not getting pears but also get a little bread and buttery popcorn.
Medium bodied with a medium to medium high level of carbonation leading to a sweet and dry finish.
Not bad at all for a newish London brewer, beats a number of examples of this style I can recall drinking in Deutschland!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2013 Tap in the Holborn Whippet. Yellowish golden colour with decent white head. Not much of an aroma. Flavour initially light, bit of coarse grainy wheat, quite a bitter finish maybe some hop, more of an English wheat ale than a German hefe to me, lacking Bavarian spice. Hmmm smooth but a bit bland.
Re-rate September 2013 in the tap room. I think this has improved a bit, got less grainy and more fruity and yeasty, also ever so slightly sour on this occasion. Sounds like the key ingredient here is the yeast, maybe it’s gradually getting there although the Bavarians have a few decades head start...anyway, rated 3.0 overall this time so increased my score.
