Very dark brown, bordering on black with a massive light coffee head. Excessive carbonation and strong body caused a slight gusher, but not too bad. Very smokey aroma, a hint of charcoal, slight hint of smallgoods (ham). Strong dry bitter roast flavour, somewhat coffee like with an astringent finish. Some bitter cocoa and burnt toffee flavours too. Nicely mouthfilling yet strangely dry and short in the finish. Not bad but relys too heavily on roast barley.
