UPDATED: MAR 21, 2013 Lone pint 667: neighbor of the beast. Tried first on tap at Petrol Station. Bright cloudy orange. Scrumptious. The real deal. Tangerine and peach, serious bitterness, all nicely done. It all comes together. Reminds me of a stronger 512 IPA, or an Independence Stash IPA with more citrus and melon. // This latter part is a re-rating now that I’ve tried this beer at 3 additional locations on tap in the past few weeks. It more recently doesn’t stand up to the first taste and comparison I did at Petrol weeks ago. I’m not sure why. There is now a fainter nose and more grass than citrus and melon. (At Little Woodrows it even smelled flat and tasted like hay compared to 512 IPA). At Hay Merchant it was closer to my first impression, but still seems rather inconsistent to this beer rater. It’s still decent, but nowhere near my original overall rating, so I’ve updated it here.
