COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our American India Pale Ale uses bountiful amounts of American two row malted barley and a sprinkle of Maris Otter in combination with three bold whole cone American hops. The hops are individually transitioned throughout the boil to highlight each hop’s bittering and flavoring characteristics. Post-fermentation, 667 is dry hopped with vast amounts of the same three hops. The beer is named after a phrase someone scrawled into the wall of our favorite college watering hole.

First sip was a bit underwhelming, but thankfully this one turned for the better as I continued to sip. Pour is a murky pink orange color with a straight white head. Aroma is floral and sweet, with lots of citrus notes. Taste is similar, with peach, mango, piney resin, grapefruit, and rose petal. Decent IPA.

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An unclear, golden beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. The aromas is a bit weak I think, but nice, with citrus peel notes, resins and a grassy touch. Not much room left for the malts. It’s pretty bitter on the palate, with citrus peel, pine cones and a subtle malty sweetness. Full body and a nice carbonation level, semi-sweet. Mostly bitter finish. A beer that starts off a bit boring, but sure isn’t. 140515

Location: Draft at Richmond Arms, 4/2/14

Aroma: Nose has some pine and citrus, some crystal malt, and some caramel
Appearance: It pours a hazed darker amber color with a beige head and average lace
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet and mid-bitter, similar to the components of the nose
Palate: The body is medium, it has an alright mouthfeel, and average carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this was a half decent, but ultimately unexciting IPA. This is a fine beer, but it is hardly more than that.

On draft at The Buzz @ Bee Cave. Served in a pint glass, deep yellow almost amber color. Aroma is lacking unfortunately, taste is fairly tame, not bitter at all. Isn't a bad beer, but it's boring by my IPA standards. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy copper with off-white head. Almost non-existent aroma; some caramel and wet dog. Taste is malt forward and very mildly bitter. Medium bodied and pretty smooth. Weak IPA, but not a bad beer.

Tap at mellow mushroom in spring. The look is clear, lacing white head, and golden in color. The smell is pine, fruit, hops, grapefruit, cleaning solution. The taste is decent bitterness, hops, pine, and ok.
