COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Brown Ale gives a nod to the Northern English Brown style. However, since defeating the English in 1783, it is analogistic that the American version be stronger to reflect on Englandís vanquishment. Gentlemanís Relish uses Maris Otter malt as the base, augmented with dark crystal and chocolate malts. Whole cone English hops are used throughout the boil, imparting their characteristic smooth bitterness. The beer is named after an Englishmanís favorite snack, an anchovy paste, typically eaten on toast.

Tasting notes: dark brown with a thick creamy head; chocolate-caramelly-nuttiness yields to a clean hoppy finish. It makes one almost wish that the English were still here to share a pint of this fine brew...almost.

Dark brown pour with ruby edges. Light head. Sweet malty aroma. Some dark fruit notes. Mild hop earthiness. Nutty flavor. Peanut butter. Toasty. Toffee. Finishes with subtle bitterness and earthy/spiciness of noble hops. Not bad at all. ---Rated via iPhone

Bottle. A creamy, dark beige head of finger-thick size leaves lacings. Light brown in color. The aroma is roasted and toasted, with bread and some dried fruits. Notes of chocolate and nuts too. A faint bitterness in the flavor, with roasted malts dominating. Chocolate notes, some nuts and dried fruits. Smooth on the palate, full-bodied and semi-dry. A faint bitterness in the finish. A pretty nice one, but a bit weak I think. 140515

Draft at T&P; pretty cool drinking in an old train station. Dark brown, bronze pour with a thin, spotty head. Nice malt aroma. Dark roasted malt and coffee bitterness in the taste. Good brown; not boring.

Smells of caramel and brown sugar. Taste is also quite sweet but more chocolatey, like chocolate milk. Just a hint of nutty/woody.

Good recommendation from the folks at Craft Pride in Austin. Reminds me of the Lagunitas Brown Shugga. Dark brown pour, with dark fruits, brown sugar, and chocolate malts. Nice and smooth, and not overbearing. Lovely brew.
