COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Initially Pioneer I: Yellow Rose, later on became a regular.

A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic (HBC 369). It is a daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14), one of our favorite hops. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine.

Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable.

Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a lacy head. Nice, expressive nose. In the mouth it is very hop forward. Very nice.

Pours hazy yellow with large tan head out of bottle. Amazing aroma of grapefruit, flowers, and tropical fruit. Flavor matching smell. Very smooth for an ipa. One of the best in my opinion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted on 9/27/14 from a growler shared by Drews. Pours hazy light orange with an average white head that slowly recedes to a thin, bubbly collar. The nose is grapefruit and lightly tropical fruit hops, plenty floral, with a nice bread malt backbone. The flavor is a really nice balance of the same floral and tropical fruity hops with the same malt. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long nicely bitter and lightly malty finish.

Pours a clear bright golden color with white head. Very aromatic, citrus, and lots of it, not much pine, sweeter notes; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a bittersweet hop note.

On tap at Flying Saucer Sugar Land. Pours a clean, clear amber with a white head. Nose is of potent citrus, especially grapefruit. Taste is if citrus and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is medium with bitter bite, but not overpowering. Balanced well. Love this IPA! One of my top 5 IPAs. Will buy often.

One of the best clean reps of mosaic I've ever seen. Aroma is semico and taste semico. But Both are less harsh and making an excellent bet. Sweet wih hop cat urine bitterness. I'm warming up to feline urine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler via trade. Poured a solid bright yellow with a smaller creamy bright white head. Aroma of tangerines, apricot, citrus, honey topped bread and arm pit. Medium body with softer carbonation and a lingering flavor. Flavor of limes, tangerine, some juicy ruby red grapefruit, fresh breads, juicy oranges, lemon. Great beer.

Cloudy yellow. Holds a white head. Smooth. Bitter sweet cold hoppiness. Some corn meal in the finish. Still good though.

Not sure I understand the cult following of this beer. It’s just your run of the mill good Pale/IPA, but anyway... Smell is clean and hoppy and nice. Taste is light bitterness and more hops in the flavor. Fair amount of sweetness. Light carbonation. Very sessionable.
