Initially Pioneer I: Yellow Rose, later on became a regular.

A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic (HBC 369). It is a daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14), one of our favorite hops. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine.

Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable.

On tap at Hi Hat. Very citrus, more pineapple than grapefruit. Big hops presence in aroma and taste, falls off after that. Up front, but weak finish, still tasty.

Best IPA to come out of Houston. Bold words- I know! lol this brew is fantastic and perfectly comfortable in its cozy nook of classic simplicity. Pours a hazy orange with decent head; lacing is on point. On the nose, floral resin is really all you get. Depending on who you ask, its really all you need! One can detect a mild yet very much consistent floral/hop aroma followed by crisp notes of delicate flower/pine notes and juicy citrus throughout. Has just enough malt structure to support its better half. Clean finish with just enough punch and linger to leave one begging for more. Folks, this is truly a special beer in that she’s very sessionable. In theory, one could enjoy Yellow Rose on a daily. But then you loose that special, special-ness about her. She is a treat in my book and I treat that with respect. ;) Cheers!!

750, capped. Thanks, N! Wow, what an awesome treat! Pours a hazy dark gold with a loose white head. Nose shows pretty mango and pineapple notes. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Light toasty caramel and crackers under a steady wash of mango and pineapple on the mid palate. Body is soft and light and malt sweetness is minimal--very pleasant.

Bottle care of Ryan, pours golden orange with small white head. Notes are bitter and soapy up front with marshmallow sugar, pine, and some lemon in the end. Medium bodied with a fair share of heat/sweetness at 6.8%. Average.

750ml into snifter. Appearance: murky gold with a stark white head. Aroma: perfect Mosaic aroma of sweet fruits like blueberry, pineapple, mango etc. A little too much crystal sweet malts for my liking. Taste follows the aroma with a great balance. Palate: too light on the carbonation, but otherwise a very smooth and almost creamy/silky mouthfeel. Great beer.

(En fût à Oak St. Drafthouse): Eau de rose sucrée, agrumes fraiches et une finale verte amère. Rien d’encombrant dans la structure céréalière, buvabilité vive.

Had on draft, thanks Daniel. This is a great beer. Bready, citrusy, pine, low alcohol character. This is a very drinkable beer.
