Initially Pioneer I: Yellow Rose, later on became a regular.

A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic (HBC 369). It is a daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14), one of our favorite hops. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine.

Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable.

Growler thanks to my Winter Secret Santa. Cloudy gold pour with a small foamy head that fades to a nice ring. Aroma is interesting and unique. Lots of blueberry with some grapefruit and herbal hops. Tastes moderately bitter. Big blueberry, herbal, and floral hops. Medium body. Surprised this is a single hop Mosaic because it tastes very different than others Iíve had.

750ml bottle, thanks to Nick. Pours slightly hazy gold with frothy white head, leaving behind foamy lacing. Aroma is really interesting: floral, pineapple and grapefruit juice -- tropical fruits and pleasant sweetness. Nick says "that tastes exactly like cat urine," but I havenít gotten that yet. Moderately sweet, bitterness is very muted -- hops mostly present in the aroma moreso than the bitterness. Palate: medium body, flabby carbonation, goes down almost like water. Overall: the palate is the biggest weakness to this, but I think the aroma / taste is pretty unique and pleasant.

Growler: Thanks, Scot! Cloudy, radiant deep yellow body with a soft, thin white collar that groups at the edges. Super dank aroma, just like a dirty as weed nugget. Grass, light tropical notes, mild cat urine notes with a big earthy & oily pine presence. Taste is also quite dank. Lots of dripping resinous notes, hop oils, mild white pepper, some bitter citrus zest, pine needles, grass, & a touch of earthiness. Smooth body, nice dry finish. Pretty good IPA.

Surprisingly impressed. Nice bold spicy hop aroma. Lighter colored copper and gold. Average weight and strong carbonation. Full mouthfeel with bitterness balanced with a malt sweetness and peppery sense on the finish. Some citrus notes as well.

Deep golden colored pour. Big white head and tons of lacing. Huge aroma of tropical fruit. Taste is citrusy - oranges, mango, a hint of blueberry. Man. But there is a strange aftertaste that isnít pleasant and I canít put my finger on it. Otherwise a decent beer.

Pint at world of beers Houston. Pours a hazy yellow colour. Aroma is big fruity hops. Think tropical fruit. Taste is pretty much the same big tropical fruit notes. All in all a fantastic beer. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

Growler from Lakewod Growler. I really like the hazy appearance of this beer. Smells crisp and clean. Love these mosaic hops. This one has a slight piney bite too. Wonder if there's some simcoe too?? Easy drinker. Great IPA.

Pours hazy gold with nearly two fingers of white head. Fruity -- citrus and something more exotic. Finishes bittersweet.

Draft at Flying Saucer in Ft Worth The IPA poured a cloudy-to clear amber with an off white fluffy head and lacing. The head dissipates slowly. There is a nice aroma of floral hops and caramel malts. The ale had a medium body with average carbonation. The finish was smooth with a mildly bitter aftertaste in the upper mouth. This a nice IPA .

Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a lacy head. Nice, expressive nose. In the mouth it is very hop forward. Very nice.
