Initially Pioneer I: Yellow Rose, later on became a regular.

A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic (HBC 369). It is a daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14), one of our favorite hops. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine.

Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable.

Yellow, quite clear, white head. Light strawberry, melon, light lemon. A bit of honey. Decently bitter, fairly dry. Acidic, good amount of carbonation, medium finish. Quite nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared 25.4 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is very fresh with grapefruit, citrus, and pineapple. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, funk, malt, and mildly bitter mosaic hops. More fruity than anything else. Even picking up a bit on the blueberry, though Im not sure Id have been able to identify the flavor as blueberry without having read the deScription. Quite refreshing. Lives up to the hype.

Aroma: lots of grapefruit; pretty lively; Appearance: hazy yellow straw with large white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: unexpectedly fruity without too much bitterness; getting some blueberry; quite delicious; Palate: medium-light body with long, lightly bitter finish; Overall: really enjoyed it; a different twist on an ipa; would definitely buy again.

Draft 11/28/15 (Londoner-Addison)-Pours golden with a nice sized white head. Aroma of hops, malt and other fruits. Taste of the same. This light to medium bodied brew is well balanced and was a pleasant surprise.

Cloudy golden in color, frothy white head. Aroma heavy in pineapple and grapefruit. Creamy texture on the front end, yielding to a crisp bite. Citrus blends well with a smooth malt grain and fresh hops....notes of green apple.

APPEARANCE- truely yella, super cloudy with a white head that dissipates but laces well. NOSE- super fruity with a nice balance. FLAVOR- really fruity up front with some nice bitterness in the back end of the sip. NOTES- Surprised to hear this is a single malt single hop. It shows off the beauty of mosaic hop.

Tap at Craft Pride in Austin. Massive cat litter dominates the aroma! Hazy deep gold with white head that is fleeting. Taste combines massive juice, pine and slight cat.

Yellow Rose is one of the best IPA available. For one thing it uses a proprietary yeast to brew. Brewmaster Blake told me it took four years to develop. This is a welcome change in a sea of IPAs that all taste alike because they use the same yeast. Lone pint cannot keep up the demand and this beer remains very hard to get. Kegs are restricted by the distributor to bars only.
