Initially Pioneer I: Yellow Rose, later on became a regular.

A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic (HBC 369). It is a daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14), one of our favorite hops. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine.

Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable.

Dark hazy orange body, medium to large off-white head, soapy lacing. Nose is amazing with dank mango, papaya, pineapple, grass, pine, and grapefruit. Flavor is similar, if not just a hair less pungent. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, lively bitterness, juicy, and semi-dry throughout. One of the better IPAs Iíve had recently. The real deal.

Draft. Light Amber / yellowish pour with medium head. Fruity and floral hop aroma, faint sweetness. Taste is tropical fruit, floral and earthy, moderately bitter, semi sweet. Medium body, medium carbonation. Good beer. Wow.

Tap (cask) at Meddlesome Monk in Dallas with commonshawn. Bumped pint glass. Appears more vibrant than expected from a cask pour. Bright yellow/golden with bubbly/frothy head. Aroma is vibrant fruit and hops with strong grapefruit and pineapple. Taste follows suit although with an almost blueberry essence. Hops definitely present with the lingering cloying aftertaste expected from a hop centric ale. Freshness to this one that I really enjoy. Interesting fruity IPA. Worth a try if in Texas.

Enjoyed at BTBF 2015. Cloudy yellow appearance. Fat hop he knows, sharp hops. A bit catty. Happy flavor, might be Simcoe hops, Catty and resin. Dank!

Bottle to glass. Thanks BJ! Pours a mostly clear golden yellow with a small amount of sediment. Big foamy off white head. Aroma is a delicious citrusy, fleshy fruit hops. Flavor seems like itís more focused on the malt base, with definite pilsner character. Light in body and easily drinkable. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours an incandescently deep colored gold with a high, lacy, sticky, mashed-potato white head. Nose is spruce, lemon, ruby-red grapefruit, stone fruit, and turbinado sugar -- amazing. On the tongue, itís a wild, magnificent variety of flavors; pine, apricot, hard cheese, nuts, herbs. One of the most food-like IPAs Iíve ever had, this is substantial and giving. Finish is long and herbal, with more nut and cheese elements. Amazing.

The pour is dark golden with an off-white head. The aroma is green and fruity, dominated by mangoey hops, followed by pineapple, earth, grapefruit peel, very subtle funk, mineraly barley, and a floral background. The mouthfeel is crisp, with a medium body and lively carbonation. The taste is bitter, with fruity and floral sweetness rounding it out. Outstanding.
