COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio). "The Silver Star" is as you might guess the light version of regular Lone Star.

Bottled. Pale yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma and flavour in this one pretty much like in the "normal" version, but I do feel like this one may have a bit of rice or maize in it, since along with a slight hoppyness it has a strange sweetness in it. Not too bad, but most likely not needed to buy this one again... Has a bit same issues as Bud has with the "Swedish" Bud 3.5%, the lower % beer tastes more... erraneous! Got both Lone Star and this from a friend who just came back after a few years in the states... without knowing I rate beer, so I was happy that he had brought some stuff with him and he decided to let me taste a "few" new ones...

Bottle. Light pale color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Light green hoppy aroma. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a light sweet finish of short duration.

Can with a best by of 12/07/09 (expired) with much thanks to swalden28. Pours with a very small white head over a very pale body. Aroma is watery, and sweet and sweat. Blah. Taste is vegital, fruity and watery. Thin doesn’t even begin to describe...

Worse than regular Gold Star, and not something I’d ever drink again. They may make them bigger in Texas, but that doesn’t apply to beer.

Can poured a clear pale straw color with a smallwhite head. Aromas of sweet corn with a bit of a sour note. Palate was light and watery. Flavor was light white bread with just the smallest touch of citrus.

Can 330ml
Appearance: Quiet pale even if you put into consideration this is light macro. Minimal fizzy top.
Nose : Slightly tart with signs of infection. Sweet, off feeling aroma . Please mind that this is canned beer with best before date still almost a year from now.
Flavor/Palate : Watery base , sweet shallow notes , some carbonation with off some funky hints. Apple with liquid cardboard added mineral water. Poor quality control is evident.

A light version of a mediocre beer makes for a waste of stomach space. There are better reasons to bloat your gut than a watered down sweet malt p-water. I can only echo Ringo’s evaluation (see below): "SH!T"

WHAT? You mean there is a "light" version of Lone Star? I thought the regular, full-strength Lone Star was light enough. Pours a very light golden pale blonde brew with no head. Aroma of light corn flakes. Taste is light bodied, lots of carbonation and hardly any flavor. Maybe a hint of corn flakes. Finish is clear cut with no flavor. Can’t get any lighter than this. Maybe nitro charge this brew and it’ll make my beer glass float on air.
