COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio). "The Silver Star" is as you might guess the light version of regular Lone Star.

All you Bud Light drinkers (sheep) can just keep drinking your crap. That leaves more Lone Star Light for me! If you don’t think it’s good enough to pass through your lips then keep in mind that it just won the GOLD MEDAL at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival as BEST LIGHT BEER IN AMERICA! A high price doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the quality of a beer. For a light brew, this one has flavor and character. It deserves a better rating than some of the people have given it. Keep an open mind and compare this light beer to any other.

Notes: 12 fl oz bottle. A great beer to have with heavy foods. Goes down smooth with a similar taste to LoneStar but with a less bodied taste. A: Yellow & Gold with a light head. S: Smells of strong cereal and other grain. T: A hint of malt, cereal, and grian that is not to overpowered and not to subtle; Very low bitter taste. Cereal taste stands out. D: Excellent drinkability. Very smooth. Not to bitter.

Back in the day, Lone Star sold this stuff in a 21-pack for the price of 18. THis is white trash farmer beer, or in my case, south texas high school beer.

You can make something lighter than Lone Star?

Tastes like Lonestar mixed with water. Maybe thats a little harsh, but it seems perfect for a beer when you are workin outside and you need a beer you can drink 30 of and still not have a buzz.

Actually followed up a Lone Star with this (Hey, when in Rome..). While the aroma was actually a little skunkier than the Original, the mouthfeel/finish was a little better, so the two of these evened out. That being said, been there, tried these..done.

Had at the bar in a bottle, no glass was served nor did I see the point in really pouring this into a glass. Light in color. Sweet smell, no real hop smell. Sweet like the rice you get with sushi taste. Extremely light in the mouth, as expected. Yeah, you can drink it, but really why would you? I had this after drinking several SN Pale Ales at the bar. This beer makes me understand why I love craft beers. Lone Star Light certainly has its place in the ber world, but for me, it isn’t something I would really like to drink again.

To call this one the official beer of Texas is a bit of a stretch. There are better Texas samples out there.

Bottle. Looks like a light pale lager, smells like a light pale lager covered with an inch of dust. Tatse-honey, cereal, ricey adjuncts, fizz. Quite sweet for a light Pale lager, and I don;t think that is a good thing.
