I got the same thought when I drank it. Old, metallic mustly flavor wth a hint that it is supposed to be a bock...
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2007
Bottle. Some mollasses like sweetness and slightly old rusty, metallic notes. Sweet caramel. Thin. No good.
0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2007
Bottle at Chris_O London bottlefest March 07. Russet colour with thin beige head. Toffee aroma. Ungghhhhh. Not keen. Old, thin, musty. One for the festival special I feel.
0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 KAggie97 (3290) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - APR 10, 2007
Pours anemic and weak, like looking at a full sewer drain. Putrid aromas of out-of-date ingredients come together to form a bizarre stale pudding taste. I could say more about this beer, but I think I would rather watch Oprah.

ChrisFest One of the odd quirks of RateBeer is that we can rate this. This is old and ugly. Thin with vague dark malt flavours and nothing remaining of whatever hops there were in the first place. An old sad beer.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 1, 2007
A Mes rate:
355ml bottle at Chris O’s extravaganza. Given the last rating of this was in 2001 and that we all reckoned this had a fair bit of age in it, I have to say it seems to have grown old rather gracefully. Slight sweat and dust in the aroma with some mellow port like character. Brown colour with no head, not really surprising. Dusty malted biscuit flavour and you can definitely taste the barley. A little marzipan too. Generally mellow and doing well for its age. Lone Star may be laughable but I enjoyed it.
2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 maeib (6645) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - APR 1, 2007
Bottled - Chris_O Fest March 07. A dark amber coloured beer of indeterminate age. The aroma is old, fusty and musty but there is interesting and quite pleasant sweetness and alcohol. The taste is old and sweet. Bit of sour milk flavour coming through. Clearly not the best sample.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 CaboWabo99 (24) - USA - DEC 13, 2001
Now this is no sophisticated brew. But if youare floating down the Guadalupe in August there is no better beer for it. Oh, plus it is cheap as hell.
