3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a strong grain and wheat smell
Appearance - A nice murky yellow color that had a small white head.
Taste - A grain driven brew, not bad, but I do remember it tasting better 25 years ago. I did notice it is made by a different brewer.
Palate- Light-bodied with light carbonation and a semi-dry finish
Overall - Not a bad AAL, I preferred the older version but not a bad beer to quaff down

Big boy can at Libertine in Uptown before the frat douche.crowd arrives. Straw color. Smells very much like old man beer breathe. The taste is bready and grainy. Nothing in the way of hops not that they were expected. Slightly metallic and not just because of the can. I bet people in Texas love this stuff which is just sad. I’ll leave this one a-Lone Star. See what I did there?

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Can at libertine. Straw color. Cheap grain smell. Taste of watered down old hops. Very watery and finish reminds of the vast chasm of nothingness. It was cold and fit the moment. Also made me feel better that it was union made...not really. Like much of Texas , it comes in a large container but nothing else to it.

16oz can into hotel cup, only the best for the "National Beer of Texas"! Clear pale golden color, quite bubbly, with white head. Aroma of pale malt sweetness, somewhat bready with faint off-fruit note. Taste adds notes of corn, some graininess and faint grass. Light body, heavy carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Does what it does, not bad but not great.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
12oz can, free, poured into hotel room plastic cup. Low carbonation, small soapy, pillowy white foam. Small lace. Putrid red apple juice box and frat house Sunday morning aftermath aroma. Taste is sugar cube, red apple juice box, stale grain, below PBR flavor wise. I guess this is Texas’ home made swill simply for the novelty brand. Keep chug a lugging champ.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Crystal clear pale golden under a fizzy dissipating head. Nose is bland and pseudo-biscuity. The flavor initially starts somewhat metallic, but mellows down to a biscuity lager and gentle toffee and bright golden toast flavor. Reminds me of Molson.

This is way better than most of the cheap beers out there. Actually has decent taste and super easy to drink. I’m not trying to say this is gonna change the world but it isn’t bad by any means. I’m not a snob and if you give me a six pack of lone star I will happily drink it and enjoy it. So embrace it and enjoy it because sometimes cheap beer hits the spot!

I thought only steers came from Texas, but I guess this beer does too. I’ll take the steers thanks.

Bottle at Skinny Dennis, Brooklyn. Simple lager, served ice cold little flavor and aroma. Wasn’t that bad though
