12 oz bottle from Soonah. Pours a clear straw with a quick diminishing white head. The bottle recommends serving "Texas Cold" - I don’t know what temperature that is, but mine is about 48° F. I can’t imagine it gets a whole lot colder than that in Texas. Anyway, corny nose, mildly astringent, grainy with a bit of grass. Bland sweet corn and grass flavor, pretty much like hundreds of other mass produced fizzy yellows out there. Inoffensive at best. The label also advises against messing with Texas, and if this is the "national beer of Texas" then I advise drinkers of decent beer heed the warning.

Bottle at a country bar that I can only barely remember. What I do remember is that this was a sweet, sulfury mess of a beer that still managed to fit the vibe of square dancing and fried chicken.

Had a few of these at Gilley’s in Dallas. (When in Texas...) Nothing spectacular, but nothing too offensive either. A very typical lager that you want to drink ice cold after working in a field, I’d imagine.

Pours clear golden with medium white head. Nose is herbal hops. Aromas are grains, herbal hops, a lemony hint. Fizzy cabronation, light body. Boring lager, but hey! it’s Texas, baby! So it’s a great boring lager anyway.

Bottle at Brisket town. Thin and light brew, quite bitter but works well with spicy food.

Should be everyone’s favorite "few-too-many" beer. Average taste, average smell, good buzz, great price. It’s not going to win any craft brewing awards but it gets the job done and costs about 1/2 of the name brands. Only wish they’d never shown it on True Detective because now all the fanboys are buying it up at my store thinking they are Rust Cole or something. Minimum 4 recommended each session.

Picked one up as part of a build your own 6 pack. Nothing special, it is a beer. God Bless Texas.

12 oz bottle. The aroma is mild with corn and grain, and a late cardboard pizza box. It appears as a watery pale color with a thin, sudsy head that has mild retention and and leaves a light lace. The taste is a medium light sweet. The texture is watery with fizzy carbonation and a light body. The flavor profile is cornbread bread and cardboard, finishing crisp with just a subtle hint of underripe citrus, cornbread, and bread crust. The aftertaste is mild and dry with a light, cloying pizza crust.

Tap. Pours clear golden with whiteish head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is sweet, grainy, perfumy, cardboard. Flavor is sweet and watery with some cardboard and fruits thrown in. Body is very watery. Overall: water flavored with some beer, not as bad as rating would suggest. More pointless than offendingly bad.

Pours a clear light golden yellow color with white head. Cereal grains on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with cereal grainy notes.
