COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio).

Born and brewed in Texas, Lone Star helps keep the culture alive by supporting today’s Texas musicians, outdoorsmen and everybody’s friend, the Armadillo. When it comes to great beer for life and the way we live it down here, Lone Star really is PURE. TEXAN. BEER.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2007 OK, I guess I’m not a beer connoiseur, but I do like Lone Star. It wasn’t cheap up here before they quit carrying it but it tasted pretty good. More like a beer than most available. Still could use more taste and a bit weak on that good old beer flavor I like.

A Texas original. You can’t beat Lone Star on a hot Texas day. This beer far surpasses Bud, Miller or Coors and has great flavor, a light body for that hot Texas climate and is like sipping a little taste of Texas. Give me love, give me Lone Star give me Texas! Real Texans drink real Texas beer and wouldn’t be seen drinking a Bud or Miller. Love that Lone Star. I drank lots of it in college and buy it whenever I get a chance.

There is a very light aroma. Very clear and the taste is what makes this beer. Full taste with out a bad after taste or spike. Any everyday drinker.

I don’t care what anyone says. Lone Star is the heart of Texas Pride. I live in California but was born and raised in Texas and this brew always makes me feel right at home. When your 15 beers down, the puzzles on the bottom of the bottle caps are hard as hell!

My first review is of the beer I’ve had the most. Texas is hot in summer. Porters ’n stouts won’t cut it, even in the a/c. Laking, rivering, camping, softballing, lawn mowing, and even just kickin’ it with the buds, Lone Star is the perfect beer for all of that. It’s best out of the bottle, but I usually have it for $1-$2 in a can or on tap. I was just in the Pacific Northwest, and they have PBR and Rainier and Olympia and Weinhards and stuff. Decent cheap beer at best. When I raved about Star, I was asked, ’what makes it better?’ Difficult to answer. There’s just a ’I’ve Had It, I Get It’ factor that Lone Star drinkers understand, but I couldn’t put it in words for the uninitiated. Maybe it was all the hops I was drinking at the time. Easy to drink, still relatively cheap, and pure Texas. The puzzle caps on the bottles and T-Shirt contests with the can tabs make being a Lone Star drinker fun! My softball team got jerseys from last year’s T-Shirt contest. We drink a lot of Lone Star. Anyway, you’re not going to go ape about the malt, hops, nose, appearance, palate, etc. because it is a cheap lager. The character of this beer is bigger than all that. Like Texas, I suppose. I enjoy many, many beers, but dammit, I love Lone Star.

Being from texas, maybe I’m a little biased, but I think this is the best beer you can buy. It’s much better than bud, coors, miller ect and yet it’s still cheaper. A great beer overall and well worth the drive to texas!
