Commercial Description:
Contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio).

Born and brewed in Texas, Lone Star helps keep the culture alive by supporting today's Texas musicians, outdoorsmen and everybody's friend, the Armadillo. When it comes to great beer for life and the way we live it down here, Lone Star really is PURE. TEXAN. BEER.

I thought it only fitting that my one hundredth rating be the national beer of Texas, and the local culinary industry’s go to beer of choice. The beer pours a pale yellow with a thin white head that doesn’t hang around long. The nose is light, so light that it’s not there. The taste is a mix of barnyard hay, wet grass and corn. The finish is dry with no real flavor. I guess if you couldn’t find water this beer would work, or you could just die of thirst.

Bottle at Texas Longhorn, Gothenburg. Pale yellow color with a shrinking white head. Faint aroma of sweet malt and grain. Lightly malty taste, some sweetness, grain, light hoppiness.

When visited Texas last week seen this beer on virtually every beer shelf. Not available in AZ so I picked it up. Yellow body with white head and good carbination bubble action. That was the best part. Even our cat took a wiff and ran off. Burnt corn malt aroma and flavor. Uck need a water nasty aftertaste.

Canned. Pours kidney punched piss color with a big foamy white head. Aroma is a muffled fart hidden under liquid. Flavor is lacking yet not offensive. Light body and really generic. Thanks Dave.

A daily beer with humble origins and no great, lasting impression...and none intended. Oak-y taste, and easily drinkable with little finish. It’s a good American beer, and far better than any of the big 3 macrobrews. Lone Star gets a bad rap since it is most commonly found in the "value" section of the beer cooler. In fact it is a great beer, but not to be confused with a flavorful european-style ale. Someone else said it best, "Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll buy a fishing boat and sit in it all day with his buddies drinking Lone Star."

The aroma is corn malt, metal, and some funk. The appearance is pale gold with a small but respectable head. The flavor is like the aroma with lightly bitter taste up front and a corn like malt finish. The palate is thin. Overall a not so great macro beer.
