COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The inky night considers Cowboy in Black its friend. He is also our interpretation of the cult followed Black IPA style. A precarious balance of bitter hops and roasted malts allows you to taste beer’s most aggressive characters all in one very well balanced and tasty brew!

Bottle shared @ final old style THT. Opaque black color, medium to full sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, hops, dark malts mixed with hops perfectly. Taste malts, hops, roast, bitter. Average to medium body and carbonation. Lovely, although I like the aroma better than the flavor and I would have liked it to be a little more viscose. Nevertheless, a pretty beer.

Bottle at the End of an Era tasting at ABC Beers, Den Haag, courtesy of my son Matt. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin white head. The aroma is roasty sweet malt, some citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a yeast, light grassy hop, floral bitter dry coffee palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

dark brown pour some tan head. Aroma choco, coffee, cascade hops, slight pine and tang. Tastes coffee, pine, herbal hops. decent. creamy could be a bit more char flavored. This errs on the side on chocolate malt.

16 oz can obtained through Tavour. Lonerider Cowboy in Black pours a deep black brown with a thick head of small tan bubbles. Nose is deep roasted malt, pine, smoke and chocolate. Taste is more nearly burnt sugar, pine hops, black coffee and a touch of dark chocolate. Body is medium and a bit creamy. Finish is nice hop hit.

Very roasty and malty, almost more like a hoppy stout than a black IPA. Bitterness in th finish for sure, though. Lots of pine and a little coffee, too.

A quite nice black IPA. Pours a deep black with a thick tan head. Smells of hops, pineapple, grapefruit and a hint of coconut. Taste is well-balanced, quite creamy with some citrus, pineapple, and toasted marshmallow. Not too hoppy but perfect balance. Had in the bottle.

On tap at world of beer charlotte. Black with mocha lace web. Smoke in nose. Smokey very roasty with hops following closely.grows on me. A tad light mouthfeel for the style.

Bottle from Brent - thanks! Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, pine, chocolate, ashtray, citrus. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and medium bitter. Full body and creamy; quite far on the stouty side of a BIPA, but a nice one just the same.
