COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wandering LoneRider, never staying in one place too long. DeadEye Jack represents our seasonal porter consisting of a strong malty background with hints of roasted chocolate, subtle sweetness and low hop bitterness

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one inch fizzy light brown head that had decent retention due to the heavy carbonation. The nose is slightly sweet and chocolaty with a light roastiness and a touch of huskiness. The flavor is rather sweet for a Porter with some milk chocolate and light coffee notes, minimal hops. A little bit of a nutty flavor on the finish. Medium bodied, a little clingy, with soft light carbonation. Not exactly in my sweet spot for the style, I prefer them a little drier.

Rich dark porter; received a couple of 6 packs from a friend. Nice foamy head when poured into a glass. Very dark porter. Tastes of chocolate, hazelnut; coffee and toffee. Very enjoyable to drink. A little heavy for consuming more than two. Nice for a cold fall or winter’s day.

Bottle from Bruisin’. This is a pretty dark porter, very close to black with a small, whispy head. The aroma is chewy with lots of toffee, coffee, chocolate and molasses. Slick palate on this one. Hey, this is a really solid porter. Very chewy with well balanced bittersweet flavors of coffee and chocolate throughout with a lingering almost meaty finish. Some of the sweeter flavors are milky. This is quite tasty. I am most impressed and surprised.

Rich dark chocolate and just a tiny hint of new tire rubber. Flavor is nice mocha and dark chocolate syrup with more subtle notes of bicycle tire. Pretty nice, all in all.

Bottle bonus thanks to fehrminator on BA! Dark black pour, minimal carbonation and a good and sweet dark malt arona. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, lactose sweetness and more dark malt on a lingering slightly smoky finish. Very good!

Serving: Draft. It pours a very dark brown with garnet highlights. The nose is aggressive with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and a touch of fruitiness. The taste has a solid bitterness to it. The roasted malt is there is a big way but there is enough malt sweetness and chocolate to help even things out. A slight earthiness is there too. Medium body, medium carbonation and a medium to long roasty finish. Overall a very solid porter that I would buy again.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Durham. Nice surprising porter from a young local brewery. Rich dark brown pour, thick and chewy looking, with a moderate head and very nice lacing. Fruity nose was my first surprise, a nice touch shot through the full chocolate aromas that emerge quickly. Slight taste of bitter hops at first, tends to complement the sweeter flavors really well, with a moderate roasted quality that comes in at the finish to accentuate the bitters. Really enjoyable brew!
