COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wandering LoneRider, never staying in one place too long. DeadEye Jack represents our seasonal porter consisting of a strong malty background with hints of roasted chocolate, subtle sweetness and low hop bitterness

Rich dark porter; received a couple of 6 packs from a friend. Nice foamy head when poured into a glass. Very dark porter. Tastes of chocolate, hazelnut; coffee and toffee. Very enjoyable to drink. A little heavy for consuming more than two. Nice for a cold fall or winter’s day.

Pours black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Chocolate and espresso aromas. Smooth with earthy chocolate and espresso in the lasting finish.

Thanks to Ucusty for the bottle! Wow, what a nice porter. It pours brown with a small but lasting tan head. The aroma is of roasted malt and coffee with a little smoke and lactose. The flavor is very dry and roasted with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, smoke and ash in the finish. Loved it.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2010 Bottle sample. Pours a dark black allowing some rusty copper highlights and producing a two finger creamy dark tan head. Nose is very nice, coffee and grain roast, subtle sweetness, chocolate and earthy malt character. Flavor is very round and traditional, nice dark grain character with chocolate and coffee with a subdued sweetness. Low grain bitterness and roast with a nice full mouthfeel. Great porter.

On tap at the brewery - pours an oily black color with a thin bronw head. Nose of roasted coffee, chocolate and malt, Very smooth, rich flavor that is very roasty and malty along with a nice taste of chocolate and some bitterness to finish it off. Solid porter and one that I am looking forward to seeing in bottles very soon - I hope!

bottle from emacgee. Very dark brown - almost black in color with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, molasses, some chocolate, and touches of dark fruit. Taste: This was a roasty porter - with coffee, molasses, touches of chalk and light bready yeast. Nice, slightly chewy texture. Finishes with some light to moderate hop bitterness and roasty. Very nice porter.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Durham. Nice surprising porter from a young local brewery. Rich dark brown pour, thick and chewy looking, with a moderate head and very nice lacing. Fruity nose was my first surprise, a nice touch shot through the full chocolate aromas that emerge quickly. Slight taste of bitter hops at first, tends to complement the sweeter flavors really well, with a moderate roasted quality that comes in at the finish to accentuate the bitters. Really enjoyable brew!

Bottle bonus thanks to fehrminator on BA! Dark black pour, minimal carbonation and a good and sweet dark malt arona. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, lactose sweetness and more dark malt on a lingering slightly smoky finish. Very good!
