COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Peace is a dangerous thing. Peacemaker is a west coast style American Pale Ale that uses several hop varieties to produce a unique and bountiful hop aroma with balanced bitterness. A special blend of American and European malts make this a very well rounded, characterful beer.

12oz bottle: Pours a clear deep golden bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty caramel nose with some floral piny hops. Starts with decent fullness and light toffee sweetness with a drier bittering hop balance and a touch of grapefruity hop flavor before a slightly drier finish. Not quite as drinkable as it could be, but still fairly flavorful.

Drake (6507) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - AUG 6, 2011
12 ounce bottle from Lowes Foods in Hickory, NC. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Nice fresh hop aroma with citrus and some leafy notes, as well as a malty and nutty note. The taste is citrus and floral hops with a good bit of caramel malts. Medium bodied and well balanced. This brewery continues to impress me.

355mL thanks to CaptainCougar. The pour is a clear orange with a small, yellowish head. Spotty lace. Aroma is 100% diacetyl bomb, thick malt emerges along with the candies and old sweet oranges that would have created a mediocre, stale hop nose. Taste is malty, heavy butter (diacetyl), suddy, lightly bitter. Not really offensive if you like butter as much as I do! Palate is buttery, slick. Still not really offensive but a great example of a classic brewing flaw.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2012 Draft at Barley’s Asheville. Dark bronze. Warm and malty up front, this finishes with a nice rounded bitterness. (#4284, 10/4/2011) <<Updated from the bottle. Same impression ... rich malt base, caramel even. American-style hop bite to finish. No change.>>
