Shotgun Betty is a sexy, tough cowgirl who is always armed and dangerous. Don’t be fooled by her good looks, she will have you for an appetizer! That’s why we picked her to represent our Hefeweizen. Shotgun Betty is a wheat beer with a rich, banana-clove nose and refreshing dry finish. Sound good? Try one, But beware, once Betty gets a hold of you there is no escape.

Smells sweet with banana and mango. Taste strong banana and yeast with a slight citrus bite. Pours straw yellow with thin white head. Medium body with a sour linger on the pallet.

12 oz. bottle thanks to shrubber85. Hazy gold low Co2 without any head. Aroma is orange, wheat and grain.

Flavor is about what it should be. Bready yeast, weak banana and a pretty hefty clove presence. The body is lighter with a mineral water note, has a low almost flat carbonation level. Seem to have the right elements but overall a tad bland. I put this up head-to-head with another Hefeweizen and this lost.

I called this an American hefeweizen. Not in the same league as the German variety I’ve had, but a pretty good substitute. I didn’t taste any notes of banana. This is something that other American brewers seem to go overboard on here. Glad Lonerider didn’t.

12 oz can. Canned on 07/01/14. (World Market) Chattanooga, TN.
Hazy mid-brown colour with a small white head. Yeast, yeasty bitterness, wheat, mild banana and malt in the aroma. The flavour is sweet banana, wheat, yeast, mild bitterness and some spices. Not so bad. A bit thin.

12 oz can given to me by a rep visiting the DC area. Many thanks! Pours a hazy golden with lasting white head and thin lacing. Aroma is mild and sweet - banana and yeast with slight clove. Flavor is same with slight spice character from carbonation. Thin body, sweet finish.

Can shared by RussianDragon. Pale golden / dark yellow body with a small head. Candied sugary aroma with the expected banana and clove. Thin body. A bit sweet, but not too. Pretty good.

Poured from a tap. Small but noticeable head, cloudy yellow appearance. Hoppy banana aroma, intriguing. Smooth drink, fruity, with a real tart finish. Good beer.

Hazy golden and light amber coloured body with a very dense, four centimetre tall tan head - nice. Aroma of corn, yeast, wheat, grass, light hops and a touch of sweetness from honeysuckle - nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Slightly grassy flavour up front with a ton of wheat, a lot of yeast and good deal of coriander seed freshness - very nice and refreshing. Aftertaste is smooth and subdued with a light sweetness from honey, a touch of lemons and citrus and a good wheat freshness. Overall, a very nice and refreshing beer for the summer with a nice profile and a surprisingly large complexity for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$1,79 sampled at home here in Washington on 09-September-2014 in a Pinkus glass, which did justice for the German glass!
