Shotgun Betty is a sexy, tough cowgirl who is always armed and dangerous. Don’t be fooled by her good looks, she will have you for an appetizer! That’s why we picked her to represent our Hefeweizen. Shotgun Betty is a wheat beer with a rich, banana-clove nose and refreshing dry finish. Sound good? Try one, But beware, once Betty gets a hold of you there is no escape.

Bottle. Poured a hazy medium yellow- orange with an average sized white creamy head that lasted quite a while and produced excellent lacing. The aroma was robust with yeast and had a mild strawlike malt scent with notes of banana, clove and some citrus. It tasted lightly sweet with hints of banana and some spice at first then became very yeasty with a nice citrus note at the end. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and very creamy in texture with a flat carbonation. Overall this is a good hefeweizen, very refreshing and quite pleasing to the palate.

Poured from a tap. Small but noticeable head, cloudy yellow appearance. Hoppy banana aroma, intriguing. Smooth drink, fruity, with a real tart finish. Good beer.

Hazy golden and light amber coloured body with a very dense, four centimetre tall tan head - nice. Aroma of corn, yeast, wheat, grass, light hops and a touch of sweetness from honeysuckle - nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Slightly grassy flavour up front with a ton of wheat, a lot of yeast and good deal of coriander seed freshness - very nice and refreshing. Aftertaste is smooth and subdued with a light sweetness from honey, a touch of lemons and citrus and a good wheat freshness. Overall, a very nice and refreshing beer for the summer with a nice profile and a surprisingly large complexity for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$1,79 sampled at home here in Washington on 09-September-2014 in a Pinkus glass, which did justice for the German glass!

Shotgun Betty is an opaque golden colored hefe similar to Howgaarden Original White Ale. In fact, Shotgun Betty is practically the same exact beer on all dimensions except for overall quality. From a taste perspective, Shotgun Betty surprisingly has an almost "banana-like" aftertaste that is definitely a pleasant surprise. Shotgun Betty is a nice substitute for fans of White Ale or Hefes who want to try something different. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

LIght aroma of malt, yeast banana, and clove. Small frothy off white head. Cloudy yellow colour. Sour taste of yeast and clove, with a dry astringent finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can: Caramel, banana, butterscotch aroma. Clear amber, thick head. Bready caramel and banana flavor. Lemony tang in the end. Medium body, fizzy. Not as authentic as its Bavarian counterparts but better than a lot of American hefeweizens.

Bottle: Hazy gold with a very quick, off-white head...bubbly. Lemon polish, clove, wheat aroma. Taste has some banana, clove, wheat and orange notes. Not bad, but slightly artificial feeling and lacking zest.

Exactly what a hefeweizen should be. Cloudy yellow, slight head, big banana and clove aromas and a bubbly refreshing finish.
