COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shotgun Betty is a sexy, tough cowgirl who is always armed and dangerous. Don’t be fooled by her good looks, she will have you for an appetizer! That’s why we picked her to represent our Hefeweizen. Shotgun Betty is a wheat beer with a rich, banana-clove nose and refreshing dry finish. Sound good? Try one, But beware, once Betty gets a hold of you there is no escape.

Bottle. Poured a hazy medium yellow- orange with an average sized white creamy head that lasted quite a while and produced excellent lacing. The aroma was robust with yeast and had a mild strawlike malt scent with notes of banana, clove and some citrus. It tasted lightly sweet with hints of banana and some spice at first then became very yeasty with a nice citrus note at the end. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and very creamy in texture with a flat carbonation. Overall this is a good hefeweizen, very refreshing and quite pleasing to the palate.

Bottle. Orange, banana, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate but quickly dissipating head. Sweet orange, banana, strong clove, and wheat malt flavor. Decent body. Clove heavy but not bad.

This is one of their staple beers and it didn’t really impress me. Thought it was just another Hefeweizen and didn’t really stand out.

BBD 3/20/14. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with zero head. Slight nose of banana and clove. Light bodied with a nice effervescent carbonation level. The flavor profile is on the weak side of a typical Hefeweizen. It has weak banana and clove notes over a sulfur like background. The finish is smooth and effervescent. The sulfur off taste lingers.

Flavors of banana, sulfur, and some slight diet-drink-fake-sweetness flavor. Not my favorite hefe, but I’ve certainly hard worse.
