2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Thanks to MaxwellDeus for this bottle. Nice chocolate and nutty aroma with minimal roastiness or bitterness. Appearance is dark brown with slightly sticky tan head. Flavor matches the nose, but is rather watery. Palate is light, thin and flat. Underwhelming.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark amber with a generous head and sheets of lace. The taste is malt with a mix of chocolate and hazelnuts. Grows through the palate until bitter chocolate brings it back into balance. Similar to Bellís Brown Ale. Easy to drink, but a little heavy and not a good accompaniment to food (with the exception of dessert). Recommended.

Bottle--solid dark brown color with a small white head that sticks around. Giant nutty aroma with a touch of roast malts. Taste includes some bread, but is mostly nutty. Above average carbonation and a touch on the thin side. Bruisin Ales, 2.29

Growler from the Brookhaven Beer Growler. Nice, clear brown with a thin, tan head. Walnuts, black bread, mild chocolate, and some rye. Malty sweetness, with a good bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and sticky. Overall, this is a nice brown ale, with a good toasted aroma, with a mild flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a growler. Aromas of toffee, dark chocolate, a bit of smoke, and a decent amount of roasted light malts. Itís a reddish-brown color as opposed to a more traditional flat brown and itís a bit more translucent than a typical brown ale. It starts with a light sweetness, more roasted malts/toffee flavor throughout and finishes slightly bitter. Itís definitely on the low side for carbonation for a brown ale, but I imagine thatís by design. Itís very smooth as a result, and it lets the bitterness hang around just a bit longer on the finish.

Not too bad. I had 4 pints of this one nite at Hooters in Morrisville, NC (RTP) and it knocked me off my ass. Iíve had better but I have also had MUCH worse. Not much on Aroma so I rated it a little low and the taste needs to be a little more malty or toasty. Slight hop aftertaste. Nothing _really_ stands out.

An interesting brown. Pour an awesome red brown with a thick tan head. Smells is nutty and brown sugar. Taste is hoppier then expected for a brown. Bitter aftertaste, but not too bad. Had on tap at Carolina Ale House.

Poured a beautiful crystal clear chestnut brown with a two finger creamy tan head. There was a very nice aroma that was nutty with toffee and a hint of vanilla. There was a nice amount of carbonation bubbles rising up in the glass along with some orange highlights around the edge of the glass. The beer had good carbonation and a nice mild toffee flavor. A hint of citrus hops bitterness comes in at the middle and lingers into the finish. The head left some light lacing as it dropped slowly to just a film.

Served in a snifter. Thanks, Chris! Some caramel and toast. Dry and quite a bit off. Very weird finish.
