COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A temptress that will seduce you, but leave your wallet feeling empty. Sweet Josie is crafted in the American Brown style. This is a complex beer balancing a nice hop bitterness with a generous amount of chocolate and aromatic malts.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2014 a decent brown ale, overall. am somewhat suprised that it scored as high as it did here, but perhaps i am hung up on the style. I am probably more inclined to enjoy a light porter than a brown ale. no explaining it. had on tap at Lillys pizza in durham. pours a transparent brown with a bit of lacing on top. mouthfeel is light but taste is reminiscent of darker beer- chocolate, earthiness, malt. some hops but have to sort of close your eyes and use your imagination. actually paired decently with the mushroom pizza- all that earthy goodness working together. good. enjoyable. 6/24/2014 On tap at Ben’s Tune up. Better than I remembered. And one of the only brown ales I will happily drink a pint of. Nice deep brown color with red hues. Nice weight to it as well- like a light porter. Still a bit sweet and malty, but some hop presence balances it out. Really good for the style.

Dark brown beer with a sticky tan head. Dusty grain nose that brings to mind dry dog food. Sweet malt taste with some buttered burnt toast, brown sugar, and dried apple notes. A bit of sweetened chocolate in the finish. Okay brown.

Poured from tap. Pours a rich brown with red highlights, creamy off white head - leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma - subtle, but malt and chocolate are there. Taste - chocolate, malt, subtle hops, nice finish. Really nice brown.

Asheville, NC - Bruisin’ Ales - 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep chocolate-like dark brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma has some light chocolate accents, some nuttiness, a touch of licorice. Flavor is pleasantly sweet with some cocoa accents, a touch of licorice, a hint of molasses. Mouthfeel is a bit on the starchy side, but not a major detractor. Decent.

Bottle pour of dark copper with a fluffy off white head. Aroma of deep roasted chocolate malt with a hint of floral spice. Taste of sweet chocolate malt with a hint of spice that play of the carbonation that leads into an herbal earthy hop. Lively med body that dances on the tongue and finishes with a short herbal hop. Overall smooth drinking brown that is light enough for sipping anytime. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice looking brown pour with a light tan head. Roasted malt and slightly sweet smelling nose. Sweet malt taste fades to roasted malt and slight bitter chocolate and slight hop bitter finish.
