This was a rather good brown ale. aroma was malty and slightly nutty. flavor was a bit sweet with notes of roasted nuts and malt.

Reminds me of Newcastle Brown ale with just a bit more story behind this beer. Not as heavy as a traditional brown ale can be.

Dark brown beer with a sticky tan head. Dusty grain nose that brings to mind dry dog food. Sweet malt taste with some buttered burnt toast, brown sugar, and dried apple notes. A bit of sweetened chocolate in the finish. Okay brown.

Drank from the bottle. Aroma consists of caramel, nuts, toast, and copper. Taste is caramel with a slight chocolate flavor. Mildly bitter beer with a medium body and moderate carbonation.

Poured from tap. Pours a rich brown with red highlights, creamy off white head - leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma - subtle, but malt and chocolate are there. Taste - chocolate, malt, subtle hops, nice finish. Really nice brown.

Bottle. Light ash and chocolate malt aroma. Dark chestnut with light tan head. Sweet milk chocolate and mildly bitter herbal hops. Body a bit light. Good - on the hoppy side.

Clear, ruby-brown with a thick beige head.
Nuts, mild chocolate scent.
Taste is chocolate malt, slightly bitter nuts, wood.

Asheville, NC - Bruisin’ Ales - 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep chocolate-like dark brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma has some light chocolate accents, some nuttiness, a touch of licorice. Flavor is pleasantly sweet with some cocoa accents, a touch of licorice, a hint of molasses. Mouthfeel is a bit on the starchy side, but not a major detractor. Decent.

Bottle pour of dark copper with a fluffy off white head. Aroma of deep roasted chocolate malt with a hint of floral spice. Taste of sweet chocolate malt with a hint of spice that play of the carbonation that leads into an herbal earthy hop. Lively med body that dances on the tongue and finishes with a short herbal hop. Overall smooth drinking brown that is light enough for sipping anytime.
