COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A temptress that will seduce you, but leave your wallet feeling empty. Sweet Josie is crafted in the American Brown style. This is a complex beer balancing a nice hop bitterness with a generous amount of chocolate and aromatic malts.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2013 Aroma is a bit nutty, taste is nice, not hoppy which we don’t like. Not chocolate, even though it says so. It’s cheaper then Highlands Gaelic and at least a tie if not tastier. Oh and....higher alcohol content for that fun evening! Really, this is a fantastic beer at a great price. Go to beer for us! Update: This has become our favorite go-to beer. Stood the test of time for months now. Great taste at a great price. We’ve had many pricier beers that have left us looking for our Josie. She’s hard to beat.

On tap at East Nashville Beer Festival 2014. I’m disappointed. This only slightly nutty and actually quite watery to me. If I get a shot at a full pint I will try to give this lady another try.

Brown Ale’s are typically not my style of beer, but this was one of my favorites behind Rogue’s Brown Nectar Ale. Appearance is a typical dark brown color with nice carbonation. Aroma- Smell of toffee and caramel malts with a slight nuttiness. Taste- Like the aroma. I get roasted and caramel malts typical of a brown ale. Medium body and a nice bitterness at the end of the palate. Overall a nice sessional brown ale. I give it a B. Not outstanding, but nowhere near being terrible. It’s worth checking out.

Not huge. Comes together ok. Pours clear mahogany with good head and lacing. Some sweetened malt. Very light roast. Finishes with light bitterness. Tap at DC Beer festival.

6 pack from the inlaws. Thanks for booking me up with some sweet Carolina brew. Nuts and caramel and toffee. Crisp clean flavors with a light pepper bite. Bit of citrus on the finish. Good body good presence.

Mahogany body with a ring of head. Thin brown malt aromatic nuances waft off the glance and are spiced with a pinch of walnut. Medium to thin bodied. Walnut and brown malt flavors dominate. Dry, beery underpinning with nut bitterness throughout. Sweet candi malt on the finish.

Dark brown with a beige head. The aroma contains some chocolate and toffee. The flavor is a bit dry with more chocolate and toffee. A bit of sour grapes in the finish. Overall an ok brown but nothing special,

On tap at Closed for Business. Pours a dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, sweet hazlenut, sweet malt. Flavor of roasted malt, light coffee/hazelnut notes, chocolate, sweet finish. Pretty decent brown, slightly more complex than your average example of the style. On the roastier side, almost a light porter. 6/4/7/4/14 (3.5/5)
