Bottle. Aroma drops hints of coffee, malt, and chocolate. Pours reddish brown with a light tan head which fades to the rim with a little lace in the center. Taste starts to follow the aroma, but fades into something I can’t place—some kind of toasty bread or something. This beer smells and tastes like a full working bakery. Great all around.

Finally I discovered that I am not really into brown ales. Well, malty and sweetish with some big nutty aroma in the back. An ok one but I thought it was a bit difficult to drink.

Bottle from gopherfan99 - thank you, Steve. The beer has got a deep dark brown colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of malt, bread and cake. Taste of mild malt, barley, mild choclate, dark bread, cake and mild hops. Light bitter finish. Good and solid Ale, enjoyed it.

Really good brown ale. It is very close in flavor to Railhouse Ka-Bar brown. Give it a try.

You dont tend to see many good malty browns out there and in my opinion this one of the better ones I have had. That being said my first beer was a Newcastle and have always been a fan of the style, always trying new ones as they appear. This is still one of the better for the style.

Bottle (trade with non Rate Beer member); pours dark brown with a thin tan head; sweet aroma of caramel with some roasted nuts and toffee; taste is sweet with caramel, roasted nuts, and a hint of chocolate; finish is semi dry with a touch of bitterness; good brown ale

Pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Sweet toasted malt aroma with pine. Flavor starts sweet caramel malt with some toasted nutty malt and chocolate. Some citrus fruity notes with a hoppy pine finish.

Can: Pecan nose, light smoke. Cloudy brown, medium tan head. Milk chocolate and soil on the front end, lightly sweet. Drier tree bark and vanilla finish. Slight earthiness throughout. Medium body. Very well done ABA without heaping tons of hops into it. Malt forward with nice nuance and balance. Well rounded and sessionable with full flavor.

Draft at Broadway Brewhouse. The pour is a brown on the lighter side. Don't get much at all from the aroma. The taste is a standard brown. I don't get any chocolate from it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A bit toasty, but not too sweet. I didn’t expect it to be that roasted. A bit like a maple bacon pretzel. A bit of a weird after taste like a hot dog to me. Looks like a pepsi
