Bottle. The pour was a hazy medium brown with a large (2-3 finger) white rocky head that pretty much lasted throughout and had some fair streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a dark roasted malt, an earthy hop and a light leathery yeast with notes of milk chocolate, a mild coffee odor, a touch of caramel and a bit of nuttiness.
The taste was nice and malty and a bit nutty with a hint of chocolate in the beginning and then a pronounced hoppiness took hold with hints of coffee and maybe a little brown sugar towards the end. The flavor hung around for an average amount of time after the swallow letting the hoppy malt taste linger for a little while.
Mouthfeel was just about medium in body with the texture being quite creamy and a tad dry with an almost prickly carbonation.
Overall a fantastic Brown Ale that had just the right amount of bitter sweetness and a surprising hoppiness at the end.

You dont tend to see many good malty browns out there and in my opinion this one of the better ones I have had. That being said my first beer was a Newcastle and have always been a fan of the style, always trying new ones as they appear. This is still one of the better for the style.

From site: A temptress that will seduce you, but leave your wallet feeling empty. Sweet Josie is crafted in the American Brown style. This is a complex beer balancing a nice hop bitterness with a generous amount of chocolate and aromatic malts.

Can: Pecan nose, light smoke. Cloudy brown, medium tan head. Milk chocolate and soil on the front end, lightly sweet. Drier tree bark and vanilla finish. Slight earthiness throughout. Medium body. Very well done ABA without heaping tons of hops into it. Malt forward with nice nuance and balance. Well rounded and sessionable with full flavor.

Draft at Broadway Brewhouse. The pour is a brown on the lighter side. Don't get much at all from the aroma. The taste is a standard brown. I don't get any chocolate from it.

A bit toasty, but not too sweet. I didn’t expect it to be that roasted. A bit like a maple bacon pretzel. A bit of a weird after taste like a hot dog to me. Looks like a pepsi
