2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Appreciably dark in color for a standard brown, and unexpectedly topped with a barely cream, slowly sinking head. Very sweet aroma that smells not unlike malty milk. Taste is less sweet than expected, and wonderfully rich while having very low viscosity. Unfortunately, the palate loses all the softness that maintained balance, and the aftertaste is unenjoyable. Having expected far too sweet a beer based on the aroma, the mouthfeel begs for anything but dry-bitter chocolate malt. Not a bad beer, but there are many better browns. Couldaí fooled me with her looks though - bottle and pour.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of cocoa, carmel, nuttiness and light eartrhinerss. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, earthiness and nuts with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good lael; clear, dark cola brown beer with a thin bone colored head. Almost burnt, very lightly sweet aroma. Light, but mouthy enough. Short nutty finish. Sweetish, nutty, roasty, not fruity at all. Very good. Thanks LuckyDog.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Taste is balanced, some sweetness from the malt, particularly as it warms. Nice herbal hops, and fairly aggressive flavor overall, but smooth.

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Thanks to MaxwellDeus for this bottle. Nice chocolate and nutty aroma with minimal roastiness or bitterness. Appearance is dark brown with slightly sticky tan head. Flavor matches the nose, but is rather watery. Palate is light, thin and flat. Underwhelming.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark amber with a generous head and sheets of lace. The taste is malt with a mix of chocolate and hazelnuts. Grows through the palate until bitter chocolate brings it back into balance. Similar to Bellís Brown Ale. Easy to drink, but a little heavy and not a good accompaniment to food (with the exception of dessert). Recommended.

Bottle--solid dark brown color with a small white head that sticks around. Giant nutty aroma with a touch of roast malts. Taste includes some bread, but is mostly nutty. Above average carbonation and a touch on the thin side. Bruisin Ales, 2.29

Growler from the Brookhaven Beer Growler. Nice, clear brown with a thin, tan head. Walnuts, black bread, mild chocolate, and some rye. Malty sweetness, with a good bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and sticky. Overall, this is a nice brown ale, with a good toasted aroma, with a mild flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a growler. Aromas of toffee, dark chocolate, a bit of smoke, and a decent amount of roasted light malts. Itís a reddish-brown color as opposed to a more traditional flat brown and itís a bit more translucent than a typical brown ale. It starts with a light sweetness, more roasted malts/toffee flavor throughout and finishes slightly bitter. Itís definitely on the low side for carbonation for a brown ale, but I imagine thatís by design. Itís very smooth as a result, and it lets the bitterness hang around just a bit longer on the finish.
