3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Wenlock Arms Angel. Clear yellow, completely still, small white head. No real aroma to it to be honest. Body is medium, smooth, higher carbonation than I’m used to in a cask ale, though it’s still low. Taste is indistinct light citrus and a soft bitter finish. This is very drinkable, but it’s not far off drinking water really. Pleasant though after the trek to find this pub!

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow on 31st January 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear very pale straw in colour with tints of pale green at the edges and a thin white head. Slight note of boiled cabbage in the light aroma. Thin, resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with a strong cereal note of wheat grain in the mouth. Dusty dry hop flowers present in the bitter aftertaste long in intensity. Finish is hoppy with dry notes of grapefruit pith present in the palate. An ok session Golden Ale but nothing truly outstanding.
