4.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 kenlenard (3) - Buffalo Grove, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2007 does not count
I tried this beer at the Long Trail visitor center in Bridgewater Corners, VT. We were staying at the Inn across the street and after 46 miles of biking we stopped in for a few Long Trail Ales. The color is a dark amber with a nice off-white head. The aroma is of sweet malt, a small amount of fruit and faint hops. The flavor is nicely balanced, smooth and refreshing. A very nice beer overall and I could easily see having a number of them and not tiring of it. Not exactly what I would call an Altbier or even an interpretation of an Alt. But I like it nonetheless.

On tap, looked very nice in the glass with a good thin bit of head sticking around for the long haul. Deep copper-amber with excellent palate, medium, well carbonated. The taste was boring, with some malt and bread, but little hops. Overall, didnt’ care to finish.

Pint at Pearl River Hotel, Pearl River, NY...pours copper in color, not much head to speak of...aroma was of mellow fruit, malt...flavor was light, malt, minimal hop appearance if any...thin mouth feel...very easy drink, not bad if you plan on having quite a few.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

(Rating #1261)

Well it is a crisp, kinda toasted barley tasting brew - some hop flvor, but for some reasona about half way through the bottle I started to get sick of it. Frankly I need to give it another try, but not bad...

Another fine Long Trail product - but may be a bit blander than the others. Nice toasted flavor to the malt but doesn’t last like say Double Bag does. Well balanced out with some hops.
