Sample @ brewery. Very light amber ale. Very carbonated as well. The brewer says "moderate hop bitterness". To me, it's more like moderate hop sourness. No sweetness at all and no love for this stuff either. The brewery is antiseptic without tours, just a few dirty windows to look into. Puh-lease.

Amber with medium head. Medium bodied, hoppy and very refreshing. A good sociable ale.

Apricot hopps nose. Amber, no head. Light hoppy taste. Reminds Gary on a Canadian beer :) = maybe because Vermont is so close to Canada :)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
comes in a 12 oz long neck..nice ,simple water colour on tha label
the beer pours a nice light brown almost amber in colour..its also crystal clear..there was a small white head that went down fast to a good lace.
I can smell the malts very well..plus a frsh pine sort of aroma ( not nasty, intrigueing).
Ah nice tasting Alt we have here , starts sweet, then gives way to a velvety creamyness ( like unsalted butter)..then the hops appear..again the piney flavour appears as an aftertaste.
I like the feel on the palate the contrast between the sweetness , then the creamyness..then the bitter after taste.
Very drinkable Alt beer..Im beginning to like this rare style..maybe I should make a trip to Dusseldorf one of these days.

Pours a nice clear copper with minimal head. I don't smell much, a little floral hoppiness maybe. I taste hops, maybe a little fruitiness to end. Not disturbing to drink, but really nothing going on here.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2004 Pours a copper color with a slight white head that quickly dissipates with delicate lacing. I smell cherries. Start has some hoppy carbonation. Flavor ends with a sweet and pleasant cherry flavor. This cherry flavor is perfect--not too strong and overpowering like Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. I am not so sure if a cherry flavor is typical of this style though. A decent beer that is not overly complex.---rerate...draught...this stuff is very thin and watery. I am decreasing my palate and overall ratings from a 4/14

I like it, that's what matters most to me. Color, flavor aroma blah blah blah, I hate how I'm forced to use the typical wording of beer snobs!

Well, it didn't seem nearly malty enough to be an alt - it did have some sweet bready notes to it. It also didn't have enough hop to call it a pale ale. And the body was surprisingly watery, considering the totally excellent lacing - I mean, the entire inside of the glass ended up covered in lacing. On the other hand, I've got to say it was an easy drinker while I grilled food on the patio.

Light copper color, and subtle aroma. Slightly sweet malty flavor, but not much. Well-balanced malt-hop combination. Slightly on the watery side. Not too bad overall though.
