COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This full bodied amber ale is modeled after the "altbiers" of Dusseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor.

Bottled. A amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of straw and caramel, as well as a bit of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

On tap at Aidens Pub in Bristol, RI. The beer had a flat pour with minimal cream white head. The beer had a lovely amber color. The beer had a very sweet malty flavor with a creamy soft, almost flat, mouth feel with limited hop flavor. A decent beer, went well enough with Rhode Island clam chowder. Having had the beer in the bottle in was much worse on tap. There is a much more distinctive and noticeable hop flavor from the bottle.

Sample at the Roc City Brewfest (Rochester), served in the taster glass provided. 19FE11.

App.: Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma: Quite nutty, caramel, some esters and light fruitiness, a bit odd. Palate: Medium body, moderate effervescence. Flav.: Caramel, biscuit, light fruitiness, a little resinous hops, light esters, bread; dry with restrained bitterness and a pleasant fruity/malty finish.

Fairly simple. Meh.

A local favorite. Nice foamy head. Good aroma, a little watery body. A local favorite though, and it always seems fresh. A good summer ale.

Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 22, 2011
A golden ale with a thin creamy off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, nutty and fruity. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt, grainy, a bit boring and mundane. On tap ate ROC Empire Brewfest, Feb. 19 2011.

Rastacouere (5900) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 16, 2011
Clear straight amber ale topped by a healthy white foam that slowly fades. Fruitier than I thought for one aiming at an altbier, this has red fruits along the lines of cranberries and a fair lemony juiciness over its bready and highly grainy malts where I expected more toast and nuttiness. It remains an easy going quaffer with a fun, very soft carbonation that makes the ensemble slightly creamy. It’s also globally fresh tasting, but it fights in a crowded category and is thus not very memorable.
