COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Long Trail Ale is a full-bodied amber ale modeled after the “Alt-biers” of Düsseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor. Originally introduced in November of 1989, Long Trail Ale beer quickly became, and remains, the largest selling craft-brew in Vermont. It is a multiple medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival.

On tap at a sports bar in Waltham, Mass. Reminds me of Yuengling. Amber in color with little to no head. Not much lacing left on glass. Aroma and taste moslty roasted malts with some faint hop aroma. Overall not too bad. Would not seek out on a regular basis.

Long trail ale is an average beer. When pouring the beer I thought the color looked great but the beer lacked an aroma and the taste was good without being to complex. I would recommend this beer to someone who is just beginning to get into micro brews as this is not that complex.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: 8-oz. glass From: My aunt Jenny Price: $2 Purchased: N/A Consumed: July 8, 2015 Misc.: Born on Feb. 13, 2015 Poured a copper, caramel, clear color with two fingers of khaki tan, frothy head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Below average lacing on the sides. Average retention. (Sight - 3.50) Smelled caramel, Munich, nuts, light roasty malts, buttery malts, faint hazelnut or maybe even maple syrup? More Oktoberfest than anything else. (Smell - 3.50) Tasted a little more zip than the nose. Got German Munich malts, roasty malts, buttery malts, caramel, nuts and light hazelnut. (Taste - 3.63) Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Roasty finish. (Feel - 3.75) I may have slightly overrated this, but it wasn’t horrible. Not bad. (Overall - 3.63) 3.61 82 B

Ambrée. Nez de dattes et de caramel. Au goût: caramel, herbe. Une amertume moyenne fin de bouche. Bien, rien de mémorable, cependant.

Bottle complements of whatever dummy left it under the bush in my front yard. Amber pour with silky white head. Apple, caramel, biscuit, citrus, soy sauce. Lightly bitter. Moderately sweet. A little bit tart. Medium, smooth body. Somewhat astringent. Better than I expected.

12 oz bottle served in tulip. Golden amber color. Soft thin off white head doesn’t last long. Some lacing. Weak malty aroma, no significant notes. Taste is very lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Average carbonation. Light bodied with a thin texture. Abrupt finish. Not bad but nothing special.

Bottle to shaker glass, pours clear dark amber, two finger off white head, decent lacing with some retention. Aroma of bread and grass. Taste is medium sweet only a touch of bitterness. Light bodied, lively carbonation, metallic like mouth feel. Finishes dry. Tasting notes of bread, herbs, toffee, pear and grass. It’s OK, but nothing to write home about.
