COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Long Trail Ale is a full-bodied amber ale modeled after the “Alt-biers” of Düsseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor. Originally introduced in November of 1989, Long Trail Ale beer quickly became, and remains, the largest selling craft-brew in Vermont. It is a multiple medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival.

On tap at a sports bar in Waltham, Mass. Reminds me of Yuengling. Amber in color with little to no head. Not much lacing left on glass. Aroma and taste moslty roasted malts with some faint hop aroma. Overall not too bad. Would not seek out on a regular basis.

Looks good and smells good. A solid Amber. Just a little thin. All in all, a nice easy drinking beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a reddish amber color with ivory colored head. Caramel malts, bread, toast, and some cereal on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes very malty.

Bottle, pours a clear light Amber color with a light tan head. The smell is lightly roasted malt, some herbal notes, fruit and a touch of brown sugar. The taste is roasted malt, light fruit, a bit herbal ending a bit dry. Light body with average carbonation.

Bottle purchased in Vermont. This is a really nice Amber ale. I have enjoyed many beers from this variety pack, but the long trail ale is one of my favourites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Bought in Cambridge Mass in the store that sells singles (does every store here?). Pours deep but reddish amber with small dense off-white head. Nose is caramel, heavy cream, sweet-smelling fruity esters. Flavor is great - understandably a classic where it’s from - simple, vienna-like slightly sweet and very caramelly malts. Finishes with a really refreshing and zingy touch of clean german noble-like hops. I really liked this - this is the kind of beer that will make America great again.

Bottle: (labeled as 5.0 ABV, 28 IBU) Clear, dark amber with a thick, off-white head. Nutty, caramel aroma. Taste is roasted nuts, caramel malt. A pretty nice, toasty beer....rather enjoyable.

Sample from package, at Maury’s Tiny Cove beer tasting. Amber orange color. Thin, sort of bubbly off-white head. Kind of toasty malt up front, and caramel. Nice touch of earthy, piney hop. Medium body, mild slick. Lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. Moderate-plus sweet taste, good light bitterness too. Very nice, balanced amber ale.

Bottle. Pours a sparkling amber color with an average-sized beige head and moderate carbonation. Malty aroma. Sweet with caramel malt flavor, cereal and biscuit notes. Light-to-medium bodied with a creamy texture. Very drinkable.

Rating 500 for the beer - draft - nose is creamy malts if that makes any sense to you because it does to me. Smells like a cream ale that bas biscuits in it. Sip adds grass. I could go for a liter of this. Light and not boring.

Golden clear and color very little carbonation Light head with some lacing. Smells very much like a lager or an Oktoberfest. The taste is also a lager like Crispness with a strong malt backbone. Does not seem to fit the profile of an amber. It tastes much more like a lager or lighter type beer. Not good compared to Amber ales..
