4.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 kenlenard (3) - Buffalo Grove, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2007I tried this beer at the Long Trail visitor center in Bridgewater Corners, VT. We were staying at the Inn across the street and after 46 miles of biking we stopped in for a few Long Trail Ales. The color is a dark amber with a nice off-white head. The aroma is of sweet malt, a small amount of fruit and faint hops. The flavor is nicely balanced, smooth and refreshing. A very nice beer overall and I could easily see having a number of them and not tiring of it. Not exactly what I would call an Altbier or even an interpretation of an Alt. But I like it nonetheless.

Red pour, thin white head. Some caramel notes in the aroma and flavor. Not much else besides that. A bit thin on the flavor.

My old standard go to had on tap for a measily $9 at Fenway park. Tastes like metallic dirty tap lines but a nice subtle malty backbone and light spicy hops make it aight.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a translucent copper color with a nice head of white foam. Aroma is grainy and almost vegetal. Taste is a little grassy and has a pleasant bready finish. Light on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 hockeybeerguy (212) - Portland, Maine, USA - JAN 7, 2013
The appearance had a light amber color with an off-white head that didn’t last too long. It left just a bit of spotty lacing. The smell had the aromas of caramel, almonds and hops. This smooth, easy drinking ale is good in all seasons. It had a good clean, crisp, and dry finish and with a slight touch of bitterness. Overall, good for its style and good for me.
