Commercial Description:
This full bodied amber ale is modeled after the "altbiers" of Dusseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor.

On tap at the Matunuck Oyster Bar - South Kingstown, RI. Slightly herbal, crisp hoppy nose, with some malt edging in. Pours a very clear plain copper, with minimal head. Flavor is a lightly sweet, clean, fresh somewhat-caramelized malt with a medium edge of hops. A bit thin and slightly metallic, but nothing detracting. A very plain, easy-drinking fresh ale. If one thinks of generic "ale" this would be a good place to go, as it fits that bill pretty well. Not unremarkable, just solid and drinkable.

On tap at Clery’s, Boston MA, 28 September 2009. Nice clear dark amber colour. Thin off-white head. Soft malt aroma. More on the palate. Some tangy hop. A touch of bubblegum. Smooth mouthfeel. Fairly dry finish. Well-tempered but unremarkable.

Realized I hadn’t rated this so stuck it in a mixed six pack. Amber pour aroma is light malt sweetness with a bit of flowery hops. Mouthfeel is light and a bit crisp. Flavor is malty, a bit grainy and grassy in the middle and some slight bitterness on the finish. Overall ok, once again from long trail nothing overly impressive, but nothing bad.
