COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This full bodied amber ale is modeled after the "altbiers" of Dusseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor.

Bottle. Nice amber color. Aroma is not nice-smells like a brewery. Typical start with a smooth flavor and slightly hoppy aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours out a decent off amber hue, a bit lighter. Aromas are all malt, sweeter notes. Palate is fairly basic, malt forward, slight roasted quality.

Bottle at the 56 Main street Restaurant in Springfield. The color is a clear amber with a thick white head and nice lace. The aroma is of malt and grains. The taste is also of malt and a mixe of hops sweetfruits toffee. To much in this one to make it a good Alt. beer.

Nice golden copper color with a frothy white head. It smell of malt, biscuit, bread and has little to no hop aroma. Perhaps even some slight diacetyl in the bottle I am trying. It is medium to light boy. The mouthfeel is smooth and malty with a slightly dry finish. Overall I think this is a decent Altbier. This style really isn’t brewed very much, and even less so commercially. I think its a good session beer.

Pours a crystal clear deep copper color with a decent sized fluffy white head that displays moderate retention and lace. Smells of sweet bready malt, toffee, hints of apricot and tangerine and a light herbal earthy hop aroma. Taste is sweet malts up front immediately followed by an earthy hop bite. Sweet toffee and a hint of butter contrasted with apricot, spice, pepper and a light fruitiness. Medium body with a dry finish, moderate to high level of carbonation with a sweet almost syrupy bubbly mouthfeel. This used to be the beer I drank when I went skiing 15 years ago, but I haven’t had it in years. Sometimes when you try to go back it only serves to disappoint. Decent enough drinker, but really nothing special.

12oz., bottled on 9/19/11. Lightly malty aroma, toasty and faintly grainy with notes of caramel and light breadiness, some very faint earthiness and herbal hop as well. Brilliantly clear medium amber color with a fine, lasting, white head. Flavor is pretty similar, predominantly malty, toasty, bready and very lightly sweet up front, becoming drier and a tad more bitter, finishing with a gentle berryish fruitiness, hop spice and lingering caramel malt flavor. Clean and smooth on the palate with a moderate level of effervescence and a light-medium body. Perhaps not a stellar example of the style, but very easy-going and drinkable all the same.

Bottle from billnwese from their trip through the northeast. Pours very orange with some head and some bubbles. Aroma has fruit and bread and caramel, but in a slightly unpleasant way. Taste brings caramel and fruit. Quite weak. Some interesting pineapple/caramel in the finish, which is not very long.

Bottle from the Strawberry Street Vineyard, Richmond. Amber with a slight white head. Sweetish, berry fruit and earthy malt aroma. Sweet, slightly peppery malt flavour with some citrus fruit and dryish finish. Fine.
