COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Belgian White Ale is modeled after the original Belgian Witbiers brewed in monasteries during the early 14th century. The soft notes of citrus and spice are topped with a light fluffy head that finishes clean and crisp. This all natural ale is our latest seasonal brew, perfect for lounging at lake-side or celebrating at trails end...

Pours a very cloudy, golden/wheat-colored body under a short but persistent white head. Grainy aroma with potent lemon and wildflowers, mildly touched with acetone. Solid witbear (sp) flavor with a pleasant lemon tartness and sparkles of the aforementioned floral notes. Lively mouthfeel, mid-bodied, satisfying yet refreshing, only a slight tug at the back of the throat to detract. This is surprisingly really good, and by far the best of Long Trail’s "Survival Pack". ~~~~~~~~ Variety 12 pk./12 oz. btls., random bottleshop, Paoli, PA

Transfer from BA review on 9-12-12- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a hazy light golden yellow color with an almost non-existent tiny white head. Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a lemon citrus smell. This lemon is mixed with some yeasty and slightly floral smells as well. Taste – The taste is upfront of light wheat. A lemon and orange flavor quickly follows the wheat. The taste of the these flavors create quite a crisp and refreshing flavor. As the taste advances more the lemon gets a bit stronger and some light yeast and floral flavors come to the tongue. At the end the lemon and wheat fade slightly with some more bitter hop flavors coming to the tongue, leaving a crisp and clean feeling on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite light with the carbonation level being rather normal. Both are good for the lighter and fruitier flavors of the beer. Overall – It is easy to drink and has a good flavor profile. A pretty decent session wit.

The body has a hazy yellow color with an average two finger tall head of light soapy white lacing. This head quickly fades and makes very little in the way of lacing on the glass. It has a heave nose of citrus orange and lemon peel with much lighter wheat malt underneath. Hop notes are very light and only add to the citrusy character. On the palate it has a light slick texture with light carbonation. Its medium body has all the same flavor notes as noted in the aroma. It is big on citrusy notes. Mostly from the addition of bitter orange peel and a little bit from the hops. The hops add very little in the way of bitterness and only serve to bring some dryness to the still somewhat sweet finish.

Pen & Paper Log (Oct 2012) Aroma - sweet honey, spice, and citrus aromas Appearance - body is a honey amber, very hazy, and the head is big, but dissipates very quickly Taste - the taste is more citrus and tangy than anything, but does have coriander spice as well. Palate - the body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation active on the palate, and the finish rather abrupt citrus and spice only thing that hangs for any length. Rather forgettable.

Yes, I know this comes out in Summer, but this is from notes taken from when I had it in the Summer. In a pint glass. The appearance is cloudy, light yellow colored body with about a half finger of white foamy head that lasted about one minute. The lacing that was left was lightly foamy and had some unbroken rings that were uneven around the glass. The smell was centered around the citrus and wheat. Some light spices were in the background and some coriander in the back. The taste had some citrus and the wheat, nicely blended. It had a tangy aftertaste. On the palate, she sits about a medium with a fair amount of carbonation hitting the mouth. Overall, this was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I’m glad I got a six pack of this.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is super heavy on the spicing, especially the coriander, with a hefty amount of orange peel as well. Some yeastiness and wheat base malt also. The flavor is predictably heavy on the spice as well. The coriander is so heavy that it comes across as very soapy and chemical tasting. Way too overboard on the coriander, I can’t really get past it. Lighter bodied with fizzy and lively carbonation. Not really sure that I can finish even a 12 oz bottle of this one.
