Commercial Description:
Our Belgian White Ale is modeled after the original Belgian Witbiers brewed in monasteries during the early 14th century. The soft notes of citrus and spice are topped with a light fluffy head that finishes clean and crisp. This all natural ale is our latest seasonal brew, perfect for lounging at lake-side or celebrating at trails end...

Pours opaque light yeloow with minimal white head. Strong aromas of corriander and citrus. Strong taste of corriander, lemon peel with faint pepper and wheat notes, ends with a slight bitter finish. Overall disappointing compared to other Long Trail products I have tried. This is very unpolished and rough tasting (need to tone down the spices). Perhaps in a few years I will try again.

A: Poured with hardly any head... what is there is down to a mere wisp in no time. Body is slightly hazy (but a little too clear for a wit), and a light yellow color. S: Very fruity aroma, with the orange overwhelming anything else. Almost smells like candy. Not unpleasant, just a little too fruity. T: What the... it tastes like fizzy fruit juice! Orange, lemon and lime, but I’m not noticing any coriander or spices. Way too fruity. M: Light-bodied and fairly thin, with quite fizzy carbonation. D: Probably one of the worst wits I’ve ever had. Like I said, it’s certainly not hard to drink, which is why I gave it a 3 in that department. But if I didn’t know better, I’d swear it was a fizzy Festina Peche, which is not the same class at all. Ugh.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a large white soapy head. The aroma was artificial lemon and cardamom. The flavor was dry, a little tart and spicy with notes of cardamom and coriander. There was a citrus and cardboard undertone. Medium finish. Medium body. Ok.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a small fizzy head. The smell is citrus and coriander with some wheat malts. Taste is light wheat malts and spices that finish with a strong citrus falvor. Light bodied with pleasant carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a light, bright golden color with a big foamy white head that receeds to a small ring. Very effervescent. Nose is lightly yeasty with some grassy and sweet honey type notes. Palate is fizzy with a dryness. Flavors are light lemon, yeasty, grassy.

Opaque yellow with medium white head. Aroma is citrusy and tart with some mild spice and banana notes. Flavor is lemony and refreshing with a decent spicy yeast profile that ends crisply. Palate is this, a bit dry, and crisp. A decent summer quaff.

Bottle. Cloudy blonde pour. Typical aromas but all kind of muted, including lemon zest, spice, yeast. Body is thinner than most wits i’ve had. Drinkable and refreshing.

12 oz bottle while on vacation in NY. Smells of a pretty standard white ale here, as it doesn’t seem like they took too many risks with this one. So not an unexpected aroma that is pretty wheaty, with also some light spices, orange and lemon citrus that is pretty hazy. A very light head on the pour, an opaque/cloudy body, and off gold in color. Again, not too watery, though the flavors aren’t fully realized and bold at the same time as there’s not alot of kick, just some zesty wheat cereal, orange, lemon, and light tangy fruit juice finish. Easy drinking. I’ve had worse in the style.
